Yes, that's not what I was referring to. Pre-boot, specifically.

it was her belt, wasn't it? I'm recalling that 20th C bit by Roy Thomas.

In what non-Legion comic did the Amazers of Xanthu appear?

Adventure # 328 showed Garth using his lightning to summon forth clouds in order to cool a hot day.

Aside from the retcon Kid Quantum, name the only other pre-boot Legionnaire whose power relied solely on a device or weapon.

Rond Vidar? Funny, I'm not sure if he counts as either a Legionnaire, or as pre-boot. Legion history is so mixed up.

Unless you mean Alaktor or one of those other one-off fake members?

No, it's not Rond.

Hint: Although not a villain, this person was a Legionnaire for one issue only.

No. Anti-Lad wasn't technically a member, if I read SUPERBOY # 204 correctly. He had merely passed the "preliminary tests."

Hint 2: This Legionnaire was already a member (in another identity) of an auxiliary branch of the Legion.

You got it, Eryk.

Biron was really Comet the Super-Horse, a member of the Legion of Super-Pets. In ADVENTURE # 364, he temporarily reverted to his human identity when a comet passed near the earth; he then infiltrated the Legion after being duped by a villain. The Legion, aware of the plot, allowed him to join even though his "power" consisted of his skill with the bow and arrow.

Of course, Biron didn't join the Legion alone in that story. His co-conspirator was . . . well, maybe that's the subject of another question.

Okay, let's go for that. Name every Legionnaire (in any boot) who took the name of a dead character, at least temporarily.

Lightning Lass called herself Lightning Lad when he was dead, and in the reboot Spark called herself Live Wire for a while.

Invisible Kid II, Karate Kid II, Kid Quantum II and LeViathan all did. Star Boy's been calling himself Starman recently.

That's all I can think of.

I figured Spark as Live Wire would be a difficult one.

There's at least two more I can think of, both fairly obscure.

Yeah, that's one of 'em. And the one that connects to the previous question.

The last one I'm thinking of was not a member in a regularly published Legion continuity.
