I've been looking all over for this book, and you have me quite covinced me that I must organize my comics. Whenever I try, however, I start reading and never get back to it... OK, from memory: 1. Manorb 2. Emerald Eye of Alletto (Amoretto?) 3. Sparticus 4. Tharlocke 5. ?

Close enough. For the record:
Manorb (Mano + the Orb) Agamotto Empress (Emerald Empress + Eye of Agomotto) Sparticus (Persuader + Gladiator) Tharlok (Tharok + Deathlok) Valinus (Validus + Terminus)
You go next.

Thanks, CMK, you're more generous than I would have been... Who was destined to become the greatest hero of the planet Nyrvn?

Yes. Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad, Sun Boy, and Dawnstar kidnapped Jon and convinced Superman to leave him on Nyrvn. Nice scene of Pete ripping Clark's clothes off. That was before he swore revenge. (DC Comics Presents #13, Sept.1979) Gooooooo, Kent!

back in the days when a plausible story consisted of a best friend vowing vengeance on another, and mental illness meant turning into a master super-villain (remember the follow-up?). then everything's fine a few issues later once Supes rescues the brat anyway.
1st Dawnstar appearance I'd ever read, if I recall correctly.
anyway... new Q later. gotta run;daylight's burning.

name six stories that where thematic sequels/remakes of the original Sun Eater story.

Off the top of my head...
1. The Ghost of Ferro Lad - a direct sequel
2. Another sequel: during the Baxter run, Element Lad, Ultra Boy, Phantom Girl, Chameleon Boy and someone (Shrinking Violet?) find the Sun-Eater factory in another dimension or galaxy or something, and destroy it. Later, in another story, they find out that the controllers had a good reason for making these things. Does that count as one or two?
3. Reboot: the Fatal Five are formed as part of a plan to fight the rumored Sun-Eater...turns out that the Sun-Eater is just a rumor this time being used to give President Chu an excuse to form the Fatal Five.
4. The Final Night - the Sun Eater attacks, but this time in the 20th century. That was the reboot's actual version of the Sun Eater battle, while the above was the reboot version of the Fatal Five being formed (both of which constitute reboot versions of the original story).
5. I can't remember for sure, but was there a DC Comics Presents appearance by the Legion that involved fighting a Sun-Eater alongside Superman? Around #43 or something?
6. The two parter at the end of the Superman & the Legion of Super-Heroes animated show, which featured a battle with the Sun Eater, and the death of Ferro Lad.
How many of these are right?

1. yes. 2. those count as one, in my view. The Tyr World bit related to the situation of the prior story, but not to any Sun-Eater per se. 3. yes. 4. yes. 5. Yes. I'm pretty sure you even have the issue number right. 6. forgot that one, but it should count. I was thinking of an early 90s Superman/Legion story in the Supe "Time and Time Again" storyline (in which he met the youn, 70s and 5YL Legions at various times) that was in some ways remake of the DCCP tale.

OK, I don't know if I've posted this question on Legionworld before or not, but Kent's question reminded me of it. Anyway, in the reboot, President Chu was a specific reboot version for which preboot character?
There are probably several characters one could make her fit for, but there is one character in particular who did something preboot that nobody else ever did, and President Chu did nearly exactly the same thing in the post-boot that nobody else ever did.
Hint: it's not Universo.

Starfinger is the answer. Or the face behind Starfinger is more like it. The first guy (Was that Lars Hanscomb?) brainwashed Garth and made him Starfinger, while Chu brainwashed Jan and made him the villain-formerly-known-as-Starfinger.
Universo was also guilty of the presidential-level criminal activities, wasn't he?

(Excluding any possible meeting in Crisis on Infinite Earths,) What 20th century "legacy" hero did the Legion only encounter on the cover of a comic book, never in the story itself?

Ahh--but Kandru and Chu were legitimately elected when they abused their powers. Universo's prior crimes involved fraud, although Universo's own actual administration of Earth was fairly clean.
Hmm, what about Power Girl #2? Or does delusionary encounters count?

A meeting was depicted in the story, even though it was an illusion/delusion.
The answer I'm looking for does not even have that.

Thom (wearing his Kingdom Come outfit) was featured on the covers of Starman (Jack Kinght) # 57-62, which had images of all of the Starmen and not just Jack and Mikaal whom he actually met (and Ted, who he met a mother box copy of).

good thought, but as Lar once commented, you can't have a Legion of one.
the cover I refer to has three Legionnaires on it.

I don't believe in Helena Wayne, so I'll say Green Arrow, from the same cover.
