I remember Bouncing Boy sneezing his way to victory over the Hunter, but I think that was a cold, not an allergy.

OK, time for a hint...this was a short story, and the other 2 Legionnaires featured were Brainiac 5 and Matter-Eater Lad.

I think I know the story you're talking about - it's the one where Brainy goes to get Matter-Eater Lad from the asylum, and one of the doctors went bad, right? Was Sun Boy the other Legionnaire in that story?

Actually, it was Element Lad. His intense Trommian allergy to pollen woke him up so he could save them from a contracting force field. The floor is open to anyone to ask a question.

Superboy "won", receiving the most votes, even though he wasn't eligible. The Leader must be a permanent resident of the 30th Century. Clark, of course, was not.
IIRC, Superboy planned to take Wildfgire's place in one of his containment suits, but was foiled. I don't remember how or by whom.

Abidjan may have been absorbed by this "New City", just as muct of the Amercan North Atlantic coast was absorbed by Metropolis by the 30th Century.

I just re-read some of the Levitz era, and his hometown/city is indeed referred to as Abidjan.

According to LSH #57, written by Levitz, its Angi, "one of the so-called 'New Cities' of Africa." I assume this covers all or most of Cote d'Ivoire.
