Didn't it also hide the Legionnaires from the Public Service?

Since we have cell phones and other devices today that can serve more than just one function, I'd hope that one thousand years from now they'd (Brainy'd) be smart enough to condense several applications into a ring.
In other words, I like it.

i still don't get how the ring can change your appearence when you take it off. Thats one ring "feature" i can do without.

It's probably one of these deals where it can change your appearance as long as you have it with you. Very useful for a superhero - when it's time to go into action, you just slip on a ring and you're in costume. I wonder if Supergirl's going to get to keep the ring when she goes back to her own time.

The "change appearance" thing - maybe the Legionnaires look really different without their rings! Maybe Brainy is actually an 8-year old kid with big teeth. Jo is a tall, scrawny guy. Rokk is really Tenzil in disguise!

*Sniff Sniff* What is that? Why, its a breath of fresh air! Oh, and look who's bringing it, Supergirl.
If You would have told me after the rather pitiful Superman/Batman arc that I would be saying such things about Supergirl I would call you a dang liar. As it is I was skeptical of this move at first, but now I quite like it. I like it so much in fact that I demand Supergirl stay in the LoSH. It feels like a whole new title. The pace is up, there are better character moments. Barry's art feels fresher (this may or may not be due to Mick Gray stepping in on inks, but I digress) The book feels like it is moving.
That being said I am going to talk about stuff I dont like.
Fell #5 takes longer to read than S&LoSH. Fell has all of 16 pages. Now, granted there are about 9 panels per page and its not heavy on background or highly detailed art. One of the things I like about Templesmith's work on Fell is that its minimal and sketchy and creates a sinister mood for Ellis' scripts. Elsewhere I really don't much care for Templesmith's work. Just not my cup o'tea.
I know that the 30 pages of LoSh everymonth were no longer feasible. I know this. However, I really liked it. I liked how we could get 30 sometimes 22 pages of main story and then a back up or a 'letter column'. Now... well now its just like any other 22 pg slice of pop mainstream. With the exception that Legion can play in its own playground.
Also, two issues of Barry goodness and then a fill-in? Huh? I know, I know stuff comes up. Things happen. And hey, the art was still good and the book came out on time. But... still. I enjoy this book so much on Barry's art alone that I look forward to pouring over the pages each month. I could wait on the trade. But NO, not this book.

I don't have a problem with Supergirl, provided that she not become the primary focus of the book. I don't want to see her featured in every issue, with the other Legionnaires slowly becoming her supporting cast. Granted, this story arc necessitates her prominence, but she has been featured in the forefront of every cover so far, with the other Legionnaires pushed to the background. I just don't want to risk the Legion becoming guest-stars in their own book.

I've read the last few issues from a friend and I must agree Supergirl is helping the title. The pacing is quicker and the character interaction is even better (one of the few highlights of the book was the interaction for me).
Who know I am buying #19 it might grow on me again. I know that *moment* is comping up. What moment? When the Legion save the day in a big way and are appreciated by the public (adults) and the SPs. Probably #25. So we can get over this generation gap thing. It's a weak point.
Supergirl is a plus.

To tell the truth, I thought they whisked Supergirl out of the spotlight a little too quickly, and it looks like she's not a major player in the next issue, either. Kara's probably in a lot less danger of becoming this Legion's official panel-hog than Cosmic Boy and Brainy. (Please, send those two dorks to Rimworld 99 for a while.)

Thanks for all the kind words about my artwork! It's really encouraging reading so many of your comments about Supergirl's arrival too - since she has always been planned as a catalyst for HUGE events which are planned for the coming year. It's especially encouraging to hear you are thinking of actually picking up #19 Ultra Jorge! Thanks again for all the support guys!

Hey gang!
Here's the rundown for issue #18!...
Where did Supergirl come from? Whatever happened to Brainiac 5, and just what did he do with Dream Girl's body? Who is Dream Boy? Plus, which of the Legionnaires has a secret identity — as a Science Police officer?
Let the discussions begin!
The best way to find out where you're from is to find out where you're going and then work backwards. Where are you going? I don't know!
Spooooooon!!!

Originally posted by duck458: There was a comment made last issue that the “charter members” (or was it “founders”) had been discussing offering Kara membership and it made me think, “wait, who are the charter members?” This is a brand new LSH, right, so as far I know and as far as I’m concerned all of the old rules don’t apply to this group. The old origin must not apply, too because so far there hasn’t been any mention of a RJ Brande, though I would suspect that if he is around he would sympathize with the outcasts living underground. Originally posted by Barry Kitson: You're absolutely right to point out that the 'charter members' might not be the same as in previous incarnations. One day...and hopefully soon....we will get to do a Special which tells the origins of how this LSH came to be in detail.... If this is true then why, in the back-up story in #12, does Garth say to Imra, "You and I--and Cos--we were the first. And we swore an oath." You telling me Stuart Moore got the founders wrong?

Originally posted by Lightning Lad: Moore got the founders wrong? If that's the case, Waid got it wrong, too: In issue #3, Cosmic Boy reminds Brainy that he, LL and SG were the first Legionnaires long before Brainy came along. In issue #14, Delegate Ardeen identifies LL, SG and CB as the founders of the Legion. In the issue #15 backup, Triplicate Girl reiterates that LL, SG and CB founded the Legion and likened them to the Id, Ego and Superego of the team. In issue #17, as Cos announces that the charter members have voted Supergirl in, the monitor shows SG standing alongside CB. Evidently, they and everyone else *believe* they are the charter members, but it certainly wouldn't be the first time the Legion's memories were all screwed up by cosmic forces rewriting the past. Did this Legion and their New Earth timeline even exist before the preview story?

Those comments just apply to CB, SG, & LL. Who's to say there weren't others with them? Maybe there were others that helped found the team, but have died or moved on since...
Imagine if Chuck and Tenzil helped found the team but left because of the anti-adult attitude. They now run a gas & go type convenience store on Pluto (or didn't IC erase that stupid Warworld replacement) and are looking to franchise with a Chipotle'.
We know they have burritos in the 31st century...
Just spouting off.

What about that guy who keeps getting re-colored as Brainy whenever Adventure #247 is reprinted? Maybe he'll come back, all pissed off at the Legionnaires for neglecting him all these years!
