Ok, in the comics they claim that Validus is more powerful than Superboy/Mon-el etc. so I ask....
Is Validus considered more powerful in Strength?
Is Validus considered to be more invulnerable than Superboy/Mon-el?
I recall seeing stories where Validus knocks Superboy unconscious. Do we have any where Mon-el or Superboy beat up, knocked out, defeated Validus through brute power?

Validus is definitely stronger/more invulnerable than Superboy/Mon-El. I believe, though I can't cite a reference offhand, that he's actually more powerful than the two of them combined.

Would anyone be kind enough to re-tell or link the "current" origin of Superman for me. After all the changes DC has made I'm not certain "what is what" anymore and would like to have the character updated to the latest version..I assume with the new 52 it was altered again?
Also, what is the current maximum weight he can lift? This seems to keep changing too.

Superman's post Flashpoint origin is still unfolding. So far, we know that he is still from Krypton. We've had glimpses of Krypton. Jor-El and Lara are still his parents. Jor-El is still predicting the destruction of the planet. Visually, they look different from previous versions.
The Action Comics story is focusing on Clark's early days in Metropolis. We know that the Kents have died. Superman's powers are not yet fully developed -- more at the "leaping over tall buildings in a single bound" level - but he is getting stronger. He wears jeans and a tee shirt as opposed to the traditional Superman costume. Clark works for the Daily Star - not yet the Daily Planet where Jimmy and Lois work. He and Jimmy are already friends, though.
Kandor was stolen from Krypton prior to its destruction. Perhaps by Brainiac, but the brief images we've seen of the villain so far have an insect quality.
Beauty's where you find it. Not just where you bump and grind it.

Because it is good story-telling, perhaps?
Fans who are used to being told everything up-front only seem to look for reasons to dislike everything.
What's wrong with sitting back and seeing where a story goes, rather than expecting everything to match ones preconceived notions? I love being surprised by a good story that takes its time to unfold.
If anything, the need to fill in every little info-gap dries up the story faster, and feeds the need for more frequent relaunches.
Comics are for entertainment, not tech-manuals. Remember 'wonder' and 'imagination?' I'll bet most of us got into comics because of them. When did looking for things to complain about become the primary reason for so many who still read comics?

that's certainly your right to feel that way. It just seemed a bit premature to me to be saying such after only a few months.
but if it ain't worth $3 and a monthly wait, that's up to each fan to decide.

Thanks for the insight on Superman's origin changes. I'll have to wait like everyone else to see where it goes.

What were the name of those bodyguard guys from the threeboot? They were like brothers or something and read comics?

Thanks! I've discovered I've blocked out most of the threeboot from my memory. Except the part where those two guys were reading some old Adam Strange stories!

Theena and M'Rissey come to mind.

Can someone please tell me (for the continuity checklist), what is the earliest reference to Phantom Girl being able to disrupt electronics? I know it was used before now, but I don't remember if 1) it was ever used outside the reboot and 2) if it was used before Kitty Pryde, who had that as her schtick.
