On the subject of Legion of Super-Villains (inspired by the recent poll);

Did the Tharran LSV member from LoSH #11, Frost (the one teamed up with the pheremone-controller, Fume), visually seem to be the same character as the LSV 'espionage squad' Tharran dude in the 21st century, or were they depicted as different characters?

I don't remember where I saw the 21st century 'LSV Espionage Squad' dude, so I can't seem to find it to compare the two.

The 21st century LSV dude was Cryo King, I believe from the new Adventure Comics #3 or so. They definitely appeared to be very similar, though they had some artistic differences so I'm unsure if they were meant to be the same person. They were similar enough that I rolled my eyes. "Didn't Johns already create this guy?"

You totally space-rock! Thanks!

The totally new(ish) LSV members could make an interesting mini-team. Questor, Immortus, Stegus, Atta, Fume, Sun Killer and Frost/Cryo King.

Um, to anyone who has "Superman: Emperor Joker", could you provide some scans of the transformed JLA from that story? I.E., Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern... specifically GL and Flash.

I know this is isn't Legion, but it is a Superman story, and I can't find scans anywhere else on the internet.

Sigh. I have a separate thread for this ( http://www.legionworld.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=11;t=000644 ) but it seems nobody reads it any more. I need the answers to these questions for the continuity checklist:

-- Was the panel from Adventure #1, which had XS saying she needs to warn the Legionnaires, ever used? (Johns worked on Flashpoint so this is possible.)
-- When exactly are all the times Marzal was called a planet or a world, and was it called one in anything *aside* from the notoriously inaccurate blurbs giving the characters' name and powers?

As far as I know, the panel with XS hasn't been used - yet. Since we still have backstory to fill in with the LSH book about Alastor and any Flashpoint effect, XS may still show up with her warning.

Don't know when Marzal was given world status in various issues but I'll post anything I may turn up in rereading.

So we all know that dead 31st Century heroes are laid to rest on Shanghalla.

Has canon ever stated that there's a final resting place for dead villains? If so, where is it, and what does it look like?

Anyone have a clue who the black girl with white hair's meant to be in Legionnaires Annual #1? (see below - she's prominently a part of the Arthurian Legion in two separate shots by two different artists, so there must be SOME basis there!)

Just a guess on my part, could she be a badly colored Dream Girl?

Nope, Nura was established as Projectra's servant (and Projectra/Nura/Val weren't Legionnaires at all).

The "black girl" part suggests Catspaw, though there's really no other resemblance.

Possibly a version of a new character that was planned for introduction to the SW6 team, but got Zero Houred out?

I'll be honest - I was expecting this to be someone really obvious that (not being a preboot fan) I just didn't know about. I'm now beginning to think she was just dropped in for the sake of showing that it wasn't exactly the same lineup as the "normal" preboot universe...

Maybe, but it was published well into the Zero Hour buildup and only a fortnight before End of an Era pt 1 - and of the co-writers, Waid only did the ZH issues of preboot Legionnaires, while Templeton didn't do any; and it's a similar story for the artists - Moy only did one pre-ZH issue, Pelletier did none.

Don't think so - it's set in the last decade of the 30th century, and there's no other characters obviously out of their "normal" time (i.e., they didn't slip in any 20th century characters).

Besides, Stealth's a lighter, yellow-orange colour.

Besides Projectra and Nura, and perhaps Mysa, I can't think of any preboot Legion characters with white hair, and certainly none with that hair and skin color combo.

Maybe it was a homage to Storm of the X-Men?

Anybody know of a site with any amount of decent information on the Athramites (and some decent pictures of them)?

I've checked a bunch on Google, and the pictures tend to be tiny and unclear, and the information limited to stuff about them being image consultants and having 87 senses, but not bothering to mention stuff like whether they are insectoid or just look that way, with their funky helmets...

I still think Stealth is the closest. The hair matches and the skin color is not exact, but it's close--certainly closer than the average character.

As I recall, we get a glimpse of their homeworld and government in one of the DnA issues (either Legion Worlds or an early issue of the Legion).

I remember when I was going to 'skin' them for The Sims and not being able to get many decent, detailed images of them. I don't think there ever was much official information on them. I'll check the 'Secret Files' issues and see if there were any details there. In the mean time, here is a dirrect quote from the 'Legion Help File':

Athramites

The Athramites, natives of the United Planets planet Athram, are creatures that have excellent aesthetic taste, a result of their forty-seven different senses. They are responsible for the design of Legion headquarters and of several Legion costumes. A number of these creatures have been hired by R. J. Brande to remain permanently on staff to advise the Legion on matters of public appearance. They sometimes come on too strong (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 63, Legionnaires # 44), although their energy has its limits (Legionnaires # 53), but are loyal allies, and can be counted on to defend their friends and their friends' possessions, however effectively they can (Legionnaires # 35). [/b]
Thanks for looking around! I couldn't find a good picture either, and I'm just gonna go with the time honored tradition of 'making stuff up.'

So, furry insectoid meter-high three-eyed six-limbed Athramites coming up!
