Pick a team of six to join Dream Girl in Real World: Naltor to live in a house and get real.

Mon-El would go, obviously, for his strength, speed and invulnerability.

Tellus for his ability to telepathically calm the raging Lythylites.

Element Lad can transmute the air around the seedling to water, watering the plant without having to approach it.

Blok would see it as his duty to go and protect the seed that Timber Wolf planted.

Quislet would possess the Lythylites' armor and use it against them before it disintegrates. What fun!

Karate Kid II of the Subs would be brought along not only for his fighting prowess but also for his intimate knowledge of Lythyl and it's traditions.

Sun Boy would be perfect for this mission! He's a natural born scene stealer!

Brainiac 5 would be the annoyingly anal-retentive housemate who is always at odds with the rest of the house.

Element Lad would be along because there always has to be at least one gay housemate. I think it's in the Real World bylaws.

Tyroc would be there too. He's the angry black man in the house.

Chemical King would be the shy wallflower who never gets any camera time. We'd only see him on the day they move in and occasionally playing pool in the background while Tyroc and Brainy go at it.

The Skipper: Leviathan (Gim Allon), frequently exasperated by Star Boy.

Mr Howell: R.J. Brande Pretty obvious, really. If you insist on a Legionnaire, I'd go with Chameleon: between growing up the heir apparent to Durla's papacy and hanging around with Sensor so much, he should be able to carry off imitating an American plutocrat reasonably well.

Mrs. Howell: Monstress. Talk about typecasting!

The Professor: Brainiac 5. Lyle is a little too practical-minded, and aware of other people. Querl brings the necessary obliviousness to the role!

Ginger: Kinetix. Okay, it is partly because she's a redhead, but I really do see her as the best personality match from this batch.

Mary Ann: Shrinking Violet. Did I hear someone ask for a self-effacing-but-oh-so-hot brunette?

XS - she can handle everything else; though she'd probably drop by a souvenir shop and get mementos for all her friends

Shvaughn Erin - just to supervise and make sure they don't spend too much; most of the Legionnaires are probably busy. I can see her helping Chuck with repair supplies and security equipment or maybe getting some training equipment for the Legionnaires (if you want to really stick to the rules then Karate Kid in her place, I'm sure Val can act as the money-holder of the group and make sure they don't go over budget)

The Legion gets an emergency call about a Sun Eater approaching the fringes of the UP, requiring most of the active membership to go. But something tells them it might be a decoy. Pick a team of six to stay behind just in case the call is a trick and someone tries to attack in their absence.

On security detail until the rest get back from the Sun-Eater crisis/hoax:

Mon-El - Likewise, take some big guns and leave another
Saturn Girl - Supervise and communicate with the away team
Princess Projectra - Who has a bit of trouble facing a Sun Eater again anyway
Matter-Eater Lad - Left behind since powers didn't seem appropriate
Bouncing Boy - Ditto

United Planet Idol had a horrible scandal with several of their judges last year, and has now switched to a rotating judge-system featuring the hottest celebrities out there! The Legion is asked to offer six members to judge the performances on Wednesday's show. Who do you send?

Tyroc would be considered to be the vocal expert of the Legion, so we'd be remiss not to send him.

Dream Girl ought to go just because she loves the camera and the camera loves her.

Light Lass would be the kindly Paula Abdul type.

Bouncing Boy, the morale officer, would be there to keep the contestants' spirits high.

Superboy would use his super-hearing to detect even the smallest imperfections in one's vocal performance.

Wildfire would be the ascerbic Simon Cowell of the group.

I'll admit to never having seen American Idol, so I don't nkow if these are really good choices or not. If anyone else wants to have a go at this go right ahead.


Next Mission: New Earth is breaking apart! Send an adavnce team to hold things together until the rest of the Legionnaires can get there.

BRAINIAC 5: (team lead) Works on determining a casue, developing counteraction measures

COSMIC BOY: as above, using magnetic powers on iron core land masses, or to create escape pods out of mettalic debris

ELEMENT LAD: Holds together the atmosphere, and/or created breatble air in escape pods

SENSOR: Uses powers to quell panic, makes everyone things everything is normal

SATURN GIRL: Keeps team in telepathic contact, telepathically calms those that Sensor misses/ can't reach


NEXT MISSION: Starting at the Oort cloud, and working inards to Sol, entire planetary bodies, with all people on them, are dissapearing into a Phantom Zone. A Legion team must be dispatched to prevent the phantom wave from reaching Earth.

Those were pretty dang perfect, especially Wildfire! I can totally see him relishing the Simon Cowell role.

Wildfire (A big gun for possible combat, plus a high-octane energy wielder would probably come in handy.)

Next mission, based on plots from Futurama and Star Trek IV: The unthinkable has happened, and someone has gone back in time and stolen the cast of Friends before they made the series finale! Pick 6 Legionnaires to go back in time and rescue the Friends cast, all the while standing in for them on the series finale! The future of Earth depends on it, since an omnipotent race of aliens 1000 light years away is really torqued off that the show never finished.

Reboot Legion Team:

Brainiac 5.1 as the scientifically-inclined Ross Geller.

I considered having lyle lead the team in this role, but I think Brainy in a comdey role would be just too hysterical to miss out on.

Ultra Boy as the not-so-bright aspiring actor Joey Tribbiani.

Who better to play the loveable, misguided Joey the the loveable, misguided Jo Nah?

Star Boy as the sarcastic, neurotic Chandler Bing.

The hapless Star Boy is along for his muscle as well as his ability to pull off the hopelessly neurotic Chandler role.

Monstress as the fashion-obsessed Rachel Green.

Monstress fits the role of Rachel too well not to include her in the mission. Her muscle may also be of use in recovering the Friends.

Dreamer as the eclectic, folk singing Phoebe Buffay.

While not technically a Legionnaire, Dreamer's precognitive power might be of some use in locating the Friends cast.

Sensor as the ultra competitive Monica Geller.

Sensor's illusion-casting power, of course, would be essential to making the Legionnaires fit their parts.


Next Mission: Due to an accident in Brainy's lab, Legion Headquarters has been destroyed...again. Put together a six-Legionnaire crew to design and build a new Headquarters!

Going Adventure on this one:

Bouncing Boy, of course; can't do this one without him! I know he hasn't shown any engineering talents preboot but he still has his knowledge of vectors and angles to make up for it.

Element Lad - transmutation powers will definitely come in handy

Shrinking Violet - for any tiny adjustments that could be needed

Cosmic Boy - powers will come in handy plus he'd make sure everything would run smoothly

Princess Projectra - to help the team envision their final product

Mon-el- all-around "handyman"

Nura and Chuck aren't Legionnaires in this era, so they can come along without pushing he 6 Legionnaire team limit! Sounds like more of a fun down-time trip than an actual Legion mission, so a few of the budding couples will be dispatched to ride the rides, play the games and check out the "Tunnel of Love".

Of the eight that are going, Brainy, Lyle and Chuck will be able to apply their engineering and design skills to report back on the safety and efficiency of the Park. Triad is along to record and collate the notes from the three engineers. Dreamer can forsee any potential problems. Star Boy and Cham can help save the others if any of the rides break down. Ayla can power the Park independently if they overtax the generators.

Next Mission: The Time Institute has detected some unusual activity taking place in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco in the late-1960's. Send a team of Legionnaire back through time to investigate. Remember to select a team that can blend in and won't "freak out" any of the locals...

Sensor, definitely, since her illusion powers can make the investigation go much more smoothly, especially if the Legionnaires have to use their powers.

Invisible Kid as the scientist of the group. Plus his spy background should help the investigation.

Ferro. Even though he certainly wasn't alive at that time his knowledge of the era would be helpful.

Cosmic Boy. He's also been in the 20th century before and we know he studies a little history on the side.

Kid Quantum II. Time problems are right up her alley.

M'Onel as an all-around powerhouse in case the unexpected happens.

Plus: Shvaughn Erin to help out the team. I'm sure her Science Ploice background can help the investigation. She's also been stuck in the 20th century before, and she should know all about blending in.

I left Brainy behind in the 30th so that in case the team gets stranded or something, Brainy'll be able to pull them back home using 31st century tech.

The Khunds have allied with the Dark Circle and a newly-formed Legion of Super-Villains and are planning to attack not only the UP but also invade the Kwai Galaxy. Many Legion cadets have already been inducted into the Legion to help out, but they're definitely not enough. Pick a six-member Legion team to spearhead the recruiting of possible cadets in the Kwai Galaxy.

Next Mission: The Time Institute has detected some unusual activity taking place in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco in the late-1960's. Send a team of Legionnaire back through time to investigate. Remember to select a team that can blend in and won't "freak out" any of the locals...

- Kid Q - undefined quantum powers might be applicable
- Invisible Kid - he's smart enough and stealth is called for
- Ferro - cuz he's from the 20th century
- XS - fast recon and ties to 20th century
- Jo - the muscle

Of course I could send Sensor and have her mask the appearance of any non-human Legionnaire and send in Brainy and Shikari instead of XS and Lyle.
