I wanted to go play in a chess tournament in Lexington last Saturday, but I didn't go. Why?
1) One of my kids was sick.
2) My wife wanted to shop for furniture.
3) My car died.
4) It snowed too much.
5) The tournament was cancelled.
6) Aliens!
7) Someone decided that having a chess tournament in Kentucky was like having a surfing competition in Nebraska.
8) My boy had a soccer game.
