One of the few, glaring gaps in my Legion collection is the absence of the JLA issues the Legion appeared in back in the 70's (JLA 146 & 147??). I have not been able to track them down for many years. Can anyone confirm the issue numbers and maybe provide a picture of their covers for my search?

Thank you!

Hey Nightcrawler!

Thanks for all the help. I actually forgot that I originally posted to the topic link you provided, but this is the first time I've seen the actual covers. My comic book store, back in the day, never carried any Giant issues, which is why I missed these. However, I think the Crisis on Multiple Earths #4 is the route I will try first.

All this reference info was a great help!

Who is Rain Girl? I know a Legion reject looks like her, but when did she get a name? Has she appeared anywhere else?
I saw a "Legion doll" in Rat's Nest site here:
http://ratsnest.of-the-night.com/legion2.html
and Rain Girl is a member of the Legion Academy (last row, left)

The only "appearance" of Rain Girl that I'm aware of was in the Bits of Legionnaire Business in Adventure #308 as a suggestion by Jess and Steve Weiner.

Thank you, LL! smile
I'm trying to locate the issue the reject who looks like the "Rain Girl" micro appeared in - in just one panel and without a name - but have had no luck yet.

Edit: OK, this girl appeared in Adventure #301 in a few panels.

Yes, I noticed later that "Rain Girl" was a conjectural name. Still, I wonder. In Legion wiki she's mentioned as "Spider girl". I suppose that's conjectural too, because of her red, very thick hair and the green color of her costume. She does remind me a bit of Sussa.
I couldn't find the slightest evidence that she was a "proto-Sussa" though, or that her powers had anything to do with rain since she never demonstrated her powers and the suggestion for Rain Girl came in a later issue.
But it was a nice little mystery. smile Here's a picture of this pretty applicant and, presumably, reject from Adv. #301 in case anyone else wants to see her.
Thank you both for your help, guys.

Heheheh. You may have something there, lil'rhino. He *does* look fond of Chuck and Chuck's expression is one of...amusement? Or something else?

Anyway, I don't think he appears anywhere else in that story and he has the name "Tiger Shark" (I think that's him) in the Legion wiki, obviously from the pattern on his chest.

Hi,

Does anyone have the issue number, name (and a picture) of the energy base lifeform that the Legion was trying to recruit close to the beginning of the reboot?

Exnihil: Novelty, if he had a power, the obvious one to me would of course be "The Power of Grayskull"

You mean Lume? That would be Legion of Super-Heroes # 66. He appeared a second time in Legionnaires # 56.

In an article on CBR, urban legends revealed 126 mentions a possible follow up to Crisis as involving a legion related group called the Corruptors.

Any one got any info on them as they seem to have passed me by?

I don't remember anything about a "Corruptors" in LSH history, but there were the Controllers. I'm thinking somebody goofed, and they meant to say the Controllers. After all, they are very much like the Guardians, and have had a number of rouge members over the years.

IIRC, Marvel has a villain named the Corruptor.

thanks Craig. I wondered if they meant the Controllers.

Heres the relevant passage from CBR

I asked Jerry Ordway if he could describe the proposed series, which was going to be called Crisis of the Soul.

Jerry, being a fine gentleman, complied -

The Crisis sequel was Crisis of the Soul, and featured the Corruptors from Legion continuity, I think. It was meant to be very personal to the heroes, showing them the darkness and having them deal with it and reject it or not. The Corruptors basically quarantine the Earth and that’s all I remember off the top of my head. Paul Levitz and I plotted out the main beats, and it was all set to go, until the editor ran into resistance from the other editors who didn’t want to have to cross over with it. Then when the editors changed, I bowed out. It became Legends, but it was fairly different from what we originally planned.

Not sure if the controllers would fit this description of a group who would use corruption of the soul and embracing or rejecting of it as a weapon.

Sound more like Eclipso to me.

Can someone post (or point me in the direction of) a quality scan of the cover to Adventure Comics 501 (which reprints an Adventure era story that has the legion vs. hitler)... I also need a good scan of Blue Ribbon Digest #35, I assume it's a wraparound cover since Colossal Boy's hand disappears to the side but I've only ever seen scans of the front cover...
Thanks

I'm in the middle of writing a thing about Ferro Lad for Legion Abstract. But I need images from the Sun-Eater story, where he sacrifices his life. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I stopped getting the new Supergirl title a while back. I understand a "Power Boy" appeared in it. Can someone tell me which issues he appeared in and was he the same character as Jed Rekane (sp?) of the Legion Academy or the Power Boy statue in the Adult Legion story?

Thanks!

KQ: This Power Boy was not Jed Rikane nor the one in the Adult Legion story. This is tha same Power Boy that appears as one of the Teen Titans during the year of "52" and that will be appearing in the Titans East one shot coming next month. In the Supergirl issues, he appears on the scene and the two start dating. However, he is obsessive and jealous and actually beats her. Of course, she ends up defeating him in the end. Not sure how he turns up in the new Titans East under Cyborg's leadership, but we'll find out more I'm sure.

Adventure Comics 501 .

I'll have to find my copy of the other digest to post it.
