I did consider getting flight and/or teleportation, but flying at the speed of light kind of makes teleportation unnecessary

I dream of flying, a lot. I'd love to fly.
I'd also love shapeshifting (flying with wings would be second only to super-flight, and the ability to travel beneath the ocean? Oh yeah.). Being able to turn into an eagle (or a dragon!) and fly around sounds awesome. Being able to explore the depths of the ocean as a shark, ditto.
But as long as I'm going there, why not Martian Manhunter? No reason not to have telepathy, flight, super-strength, invulnerability, invisibility and intangibility to go with my shapeshifting!
For a lower tier more reasonable choice, Brainiac 5 or Chameleon Boy sounds fun. Theoretically, with Brainy's intelligence, one *should* be able to mimic all sorts of other powers (how hard could it be, for instance, for Brainy to be able to replicate Lyle's invisibility serum and become invisible, or replicate Chemical Kid's dad's gene-splicing of Chemical Kings powers, etc., etc.?).
For high-power Marvel, the powers of Sersi are pretty impressive. Super-strength, invulnerability, immortality, telepathy, illusion generation, telekinesis, cosmic energy blasts and world class transmutation of anything into anything. Eternals even have limited shapeshifting power, so someone turned into Sersi wouldn't necessarily have to *look* like Sersi.
For a lower tier Marvel, and skipping the more recent 'sometimes they freak out and try to kill me' bit, Jamie Madrox's power to create forty-ish duplicates sounds pretty awesome. Don't have time to do all the things you'd like? Now you do, and in a manner much different than if you had Super-Speed!
Just, none of that 'they all have minds of their own and run off to do all sorts of crap and get me in trouble' stuff. I want a super-power, not a Calvin & Hobbes strip!

I wonder. Why didn't Brainiac 5 ever grant himself the powers of Invisible Kid or Chemical King or Sun Boy or Lightning Lass or... Ah, comic book logic.
If Madrox or Duplicate Damsel could control all of their duplicates, I wonder how that'd go? Would they need to "hold" the consciousnesses of each dupe in their minds at the same time? Hmmmm...

Some sort of eery hive mind thing going on with them I imagine.

When I was younger I wanted to be a Green Lantern. I always thought GL's power ring was a lot cooler than Superman's array of powers or Batman's riches. Then, after learning how manipulative the Guardians were I wanted nothing to do with them.

Why the Composite-Superman of course, that way I could be a one man Legion!
I tried to rip their soul out.I tried to make them forget Superman. But they won't.
