Its the only image I could find as I don't have either Watcher's books. But it does bring up a good question. What is considered to be correct? The sign that was seen maybe in full view once or the history given within the series itself. Namely the Graduation Day episode.
Specifically, it was during the mayor's graduation speech to the Class of 1999 that he said: "Well. What a day this is! A special day. Today is our centennial, the one hundredth anniversary of the founding of Sunnydale...".
But I will bow to the majority. If you want to keep the question open to see if someone comes up with the date you were looking for, that's all fine with me.

hey !! Scott !!
i know what you mean about what "is" correct !!??
in the pilot episode Angel had never met Buffy before, but in season 2 it was established that he watched her at her previous high school !!
so the actual date might be different in particular episodes !! as i've said earlier, i've taken it from a production still .... there's nothing to say that is the "true" date ??
i'll dig out the picture and post it here !! the only problem is, i won't be able to do it till tomorrow night !!! [ i'm off to London again, after work in 2 more hours .... ]
Matthew.

Enjoy London and post when you get back. If no one else has any objections, say like SoM who said he verified the date, then I'll post another question latter.

I think it's fair enough for you to have the next question. You got the motto right and the exact date of the founding of Sunnydale has been made a bit muddy by various episodes. Like I mentioned at various points in the series it's been said that Sunnydale was founded by the Spanish in the 1700s but that so doesn't tie in with the Mayor founding it 100 years ago. Unless of course there was a settlement in the area but The Mayor founded the actual town, if you see what I mean. But then again Mayor Wilkins also said at one point that he's always been aware of everything going on in Sunnydale and won't let anything stop his plans for Ascension, which begs the question as to whether he knew about Angelus and The Master and Spike and Dru and their plans for bringing the world to the end and if so was he going to stop them if Buffy didn't or what? It's a problem with a long running show like Buffy in that it's very easy for them to end up contradicting their own continuity. Spike says for example in season 6 that he dug his way out his grave like Buffy did, only in Season 7 we see that his mother didn't even know he'd died so surely he didn't have a proper burial and so didn't actually dig himself out. Those are just little blips I guess though and it's to be expected. Doesn't make Buffy any less faaaaabulous. OK, I'll stop rambling now.

1899 was the date I had too BTW.
And "Enjoy your stay" isn't really a motto, is it? More of a statement.

I'd call it a statement too.
This one should be easy:
The 'Grr...Argh' at the end of every episode had at least three times where it varied from the norm. Name 3. Don't need episodes, just what the difference was.

I'll give the eps anyway In Graduation Day pt 2, it's got a graduation hat on as goes along In "Once more with Feeling" it sings as it goes And in "Chosen" it stops to look back @ the "camera" before finishing.

I'll go with those even if only one of them is what I was thinking of (Graduation Day).
In Becoming, Part 2, he asked for a hug and in one of the Christmas episodes he wore a Santa hat with jingle bells playing (just the bells, not the song) in the background.
I have still yet to see Once More with Feeling. Although I did find a copy on KaZaa so when I have some free time I'll watch it.
Your question SoM.

When Faith [first] confronts Buffy in This Year's Girl, what are the first & last things she says to her, and what's she wearing?

Okay, that may have been too hard I'll take EITHER a description of the clothes or the quotes, if no-one's going to try for both.

Erm... I think if I remember correctly when she first meets Buffy she's still wearing the clothes she's nicked from the woman in the hospital. This is entirely from memory but i think it was dark sweatpants, a white t-shirt and a red coat with a hood. Actually now I say that I'm not sure that she's hasn't already got changed by the time she confronts Buffy on campus which I think means she's in her leather trousers by then.
Now I know what she's wearing at the end of the episode; it's Buffy's body. And the last thing she says there is 'Five by five'. What she says to Buffy though in their first scene together I can't remember. I'd have to go back and watch the episode.

She'd changed more than just her trousers (but not a whole body )

OK, I think (from looking at the BBC website) she was wearing a black vest top, a dark blue open shirt and I'm pretty sure she had her black leather trousers on. I can't help but think though that there's something more to the question than just what she's wearing, if you see what I mean.

There wasn't actually, which was why I did the quotes AND the clothes originally (not all of us have Watcher's Guide books, 'kay ). For reference, the quotes I was looking for were (only the bolded bits were needed): -------------- Buffy: "I'll tell you, if I were her, I'd get out of Dodge post-haste." Faith (had had her back to Buffy, turns to face her): "But you're not me."--------------------- Faith: "You took my life B, payback's a bitch." Willow: "Look who's talking!" Faith: See ya around-------------- The scene just stuck in my head 'cause it was well done, esp. by Dushku, less so by Gellar. And I'd seen it recently. And yeah, you were right about the clothes. Your go.

That is a good scene. I particularly like the way that Faith completely brushes off Willow as well. Bad continuity error though when Faith jumps over the wall. Before she jumps it's clearly been raining and the ground is wet. When Buffy looks over the wall after her the ground on the other side is perfectly dry. Sheesh, I'm way too much of a Buffy geek if I remember that little bit of useless info...
Hmm, right, new question.
Which (semi) regular cast member from seasons 6 and 7 also appeared in an earlier episode (from season 5 I think)as a vampire minion?

Hey, I think I know this one. This was the guy who played Andrew - the only survivor of the Triad. He played a vamp earlier.

Yup. He was one of Harmony's minions ("Harmony has minions!!???!") and the producers liked him so much they brought him back as Andrew. You're up Lance.

Rather than delay the game I'll go with Quis' confirmation. If it isn't the series lancesrealm was looking for he can do another question if he'd like.
Okay, what kind of car does Spike drive and what is the license plate number?
