Not what I was looking for. Lots of characters ave died. These three have something in common that not too many others have.

Hint: the Rorsach aspect is probably the most obscure. The Superman one is reasonably well-known amongst people well versed in comics history. The Terra aspect is better known to people read Titans well aftter the main Perez era.

No takers? For the Superman aspect, think "Reign."

Is it to do with the fact that the character appeared before you knew who it was you were looking at? I don't know if this could be it, but Rorshach was walking around holding that sign before the reader knew who he was. During the Reign of the Supermen story, the real Superman appeared prominently for an issue in such a way that the reader would likely be misled about who he was.

That's not it. Big hint: not that Reign story. One letter off from that four-word title.

Probably my last. Hints, unless we see more guesses: Science Fiction: The Advance Guard of Future Civilization, 2000 AD, Team Titans.

People from the future changing their past and thus cannot go back to their own time?

OK, still feeling my way around this after doing some research, but does it have to do with the name being reused by the same writer for both a villain and a hero?

Pretty much! I actually wasn't looking for the hero/villain dichotomy, just the same writer using the same name for two different characters. In each set, one is more popular/known than the other as well, but I was not requiring that part in my answer.

I can't say for sure, but off the top of my head these are the only three characters I can think of who fit this criteria, pre-crisis. If there are others there certainly aren't many others.

Hint: the connecting event for each of these characters occurred during the Adventure-era

Actually pretty much the whole team is expelled at one point or another during the Adventure Era, if you include things like Dynamo Boy's takeover of the Legion. Dream Girl gets several members expelled as well.

True. But I guess I was trying to think of times that I'd describe as the Legion properly expelled proper members, if you know what I mean.

The one I'm unsure of is Sun Boy. I seem to recall hearing about a female Morgna being a member of the Titans... but I don't know what her story is... or even if there was a connection to Dirk at all.
