wouldn't you know I just sent Kent an E-mail telling him he had the question. They did all play JFK.

Rocky, I say that if Kent doesn't post a new triad by 6pm EST tomorrow then you should go ahead.

All three voted Republican in the last presidential elect and voted Democratic in this presidential election.

Clue time:

What links these three occurred in 1953 for Reagan, 1969 for Ford, and 1972 for Carter. Carter's was the only one not involving blindfolds.

Correct. None were on as president. Carter went as Governor of Georgia, Ford as House Minority Leader, and Reagan as an actor.

States that weren't called for either candidate this year on Election Night?

Hmm... that *may* be true, and actually may be the result of the fact that I'm looking for, but isn't it...

That's true, but is also true of a number of states that do not qualify, such as New Mexico or Wyoming.

Hint: One could say the same thing about several Senate elections, including Oregon, Alaska, and Minnesota.

Nope.

This is also true of the Nationwide Presidential results in 1992, 1996, and 2000.

Occasions on which votes for a third party made up more than the difference between the major party candidates?

That's pretty much what I was looking for. I also would have accepted occassions on which the winner got less than a majority of the votes.

Can you be a little more specific? What might these ports have in common that, say, Port Jefferson doesn't?
