That would be it. All are Houstonians.

From the Houstonian to the Bostonian (though technically, I'm both).

No guesses?

You could add Felix Salten to the list for a quartet

Authors?

Exnihil: Novelty, if he had a power, the obvious one to me would of course be "The Power of Grayskull"

well they are all authors. However authors like Jane Austen and William Shakespeare don't fit the triad connection (at least at this point in time)

I'll guess that they were all involved in some sort of controversy. Carroll may or may not have been a pedophile (he took revealing photos of the real "Alice"). Salten's work was banned by the Nazis and he fled to Switzerland. Hugo was exiled from France during the reign of Napoleon III and only returned after that latter was no longer in power. I'm not sure how Kipling fits in, although Wikipedia notes that he was never awarded the Poet Laureate and that Queen Victoria disapproved of him.

If this guess doesn't work, I'll take another clue.

Another threesome that fits this group are:

Carlo Lorenzini
J. M. Barrie
Dodie Smith

Very good, Rocky! Someone's familiar with the history of the English language.

Your turn.
