that's another part of it. hints: Originally posted by Quislet, Esq.: All have been characters in movies not about them? That's at least 5/6 true. Originally posted by Quislet, Esq.: Movies based on historical events in which they were a part of? That is at least 2/3 but true (but in no way 100 percent true), depending on interpretations. Originally posted by Quislet, Esq.: Wild Bill Hickok in Little Big Man John Jacob Astor in Titanic Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec in Moulin Rouge You have named exactly 2/3 of the proper film titles.

I was thinking of real people used as film characters in at least two substantially different movies of the same name: Calamity Jane, Titanic and Moulin Rouge.
Doris Day's Calamity Jane was pure fictionalization, while Jane Alexander's tried to follow Jane's later life (Wild Bill was a character in both). There are at least three Titanics with JJ Astor; the 97 one, which aside from its main characters was the most realistic (esp. in its handling of real characters); the 1950s one was anachronistic and completely fictional (save for the inclusion of the few real-people names like Astor) and the 1943 German version was more about anti-Brit/US capitalism (Astor was handled in a similar role to Billy Zane's character from 97). And of all the various Moulin Rouges, Toulouse was the main charater in the '52 biopic by John Huston, but a supporting character in the recent fiction.

That is correct, Matthew. The first two in the CFL, the last in various indoor football leagues (the team's name has changed since).

Well, I haven't seen The Abyss, but... movies in which a subplot features a husband reconciling with his ex-wife?
