One hint (then if no one gets it, I'll do an easier one)

Additional connections:

"Men seldom make passes at girls who wear glasses"

"This is not a novel to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with great force."

"If all the girls who attended the Yale prom were laid end to end, I wouldn't be a bit surprised."

Well, those are all quotes from Dorothy Parker. Knowing that, I can now see from her Wikipedia entry that:

She bequeathed her estate to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
She was portrayed on film by Jennifer Jason Leigh
And she wrote the script for A Star is Born.

a nickle portrays Tommy J's estate Monticello, which in Italian means "small mountain." Monticello was also the name of the fictional city in the soap opera The Edge of Night.

That was quick. Yup. Lloyd Bridges starred in Sea Hunt. Brooklyn has a famous bridge. And Trump is a term in the card game Bridge.

Did they? Sort of; counting across continuities I can come up with multiple terms for Lightning Lad and Invisible Kid, and Polar Boy had an unofficial second term during the Five Year Gap.

No, it's something else, and, now that I think about it, it's something they've all qualified (or, in one case, re-qualified) for during the past year.

Ah, they've each lost an arm. I should have realized that sooner.
