This one should be easy. There are a few parts to the answer, but nothing that isn't obvious once you know it.
Gladys Knight and the Pips Vicki Lawrence Brook Benton

Correct: all had their biggest hits with songs about both 'night' and 'Georgia'. 'Midnight Train to Georgia', 'The Night That the Lights Went Out in Georgia', 'Rainy Night in Georgia'. Go ahead.

That they did. You're next. For a Triad, not for appearing in Airplane!

Stealth, you are awesome!
Young Mister Van Pelt's fertile imagination also gave is the rock snake (noted for lousy aim) and the chicken-bird (do they build their nests on mountain tops?) and, of course, the Great Pumpkin!
Your go.

It's been a week now, so it's time for a hint: The connection has to do with the three lead singers of the bands listed at the bottom of the previous page: Originally posted by Stealth: The Teardrop Explodes

Okay, I guess that one was too obscure.
The respective lead singers of each band (Julian Cope, Ian McCulloch, and Pete Wylie) had all previously been together in a very short-lived band named The Crucial Three.
Anybody who has a mindbender can post next.

This one, too, must be obscure. The correct answer is that they all had slightly different names in the UK. The British TV series Good Neighbors was originally The Good Life, and T. Rex's hit "Bang A Gong (Get It On)" was simply "Get It On". In the US, these names were already taken.
The venerable US soul group The Spinners became known in the UK as The Detroit Spinners for the same reason.
Next triad is up for grabs.
