Okay, I'll make a serious guess.

They're all left-handed?

You got it, Rockhopper Lad ... the second time, that is!

Jimi held his guitar with the neck in his right hand, as does Paul McCartney, also a famous leftie.

Harpo played his harp by resting the harp on his right shoulder, as a left-handed person would.

On singers and drummers, such as Plant and Starr, left-handedness is much harder to spot.

Rooney and Taylor were, but not Lerner.

Looking up Lerner (I did recognize the name as being the composer) I think I stumbled upon the answer. I'll wait a bit before I use it.

Two days and no further guesses:

They all have been married multiple times. At least 8 times.

Hurrah for Quislet, Esq.!

Alan Jay Lerner, Mickey Rooney and Elizabeth Taylor have each been married eight times (twice to the same person in Taylor's case).

Up to you, Quis!

All appeared in musicals, but didn't do their own singing?

That's almost it. There's one thing other that those performances have in common.

Were they all dubbed by the same person?

Also, all three musicals were based on the non-musical plays (at least, the famous three musicals that I am thinking of, don't know if there were others that the stars appeared in)

They were indeed all dubbed by the same person: Marni Nixon. She pretty much made a career out of singing for other people.

Oh, and yes: The King and I was based on Anna and the King of Siam; West Side Story was based on Romeo and Juliet and My Fair Lady was based on Pygmalion. All three were originally not musicals.

Over to Xben.

All right, I had something more interesting that I was working on, but no time to really go into it, so...

1. Beastmaster
2. Logan's Run
3. Millennium

Maybe, although that's not a very strong distinction. It's not what I had in mind, although you've correctly guessed that it has to do with the movie version of each of these titles.

Prince
Bruce Springsteen
Joni Mitchell

Obviously, they're all singers; it's something more specific.

Well, apparently their all on Paste Magazine's list of top 10 greatest living songwriters, but somehow I doubt that's it.
