Name two Legionnaires (not counting Superboy and Supergirl) who have spent time in ancient Egypt.

What legionnaire once quoted/paraphrased from a song by Mann Holiner and Alberta Nichols?

nope.
Hint: the writer was someone obsessed with that era (not just in songs). That should narrow the field and perhaps put a likely candidate forward.

nope. hint: it was part of an origin-flashback narration.

(clarification of earlier hint: the quote was not made while he was leader)

nope. this is turning out harder than I thought!

the only meaningful clue I can think of would be to quote the song itself (telling the name would practically be the same thing), but then I might as well have posted this under Legion quotes, not trivia (maybe I should have anyway).

or I'll post a new, easier question.

one last non-quote hint while I think about it: several reoccurring non-members were prominently featured in the non-flashback part of the story.

yep, from #283. he says something like, "Like the old song says, if that wasn't love, it would have to do until the real thing came along."

I never liked 30th century people quoting 20C pop culture, meself.

Go, Chaim!

Well, for all you know, they've been quoting 27th century pop culture a lot more, but you just don't recognize it.

What was Micro Lad doing when he was recruited by the Legion of Super-Villains?

Correct, those three foiling his attempt at robbing a casino (which was actually the answer I had in mind, but you obviouly remember the whole thing).

You're up, Kent!

Here's an easy one:
RJ Brande, Dirk Magz, Kinetix, Rokk Krinn and Bouncing Boy all have what in common?

All once had powers (well, abilities greater than ordinary human beings, although in some cases they were standard for their own race) and lost them.

Name two things (pre-boot) that Element Lad could not analyze and therefore not transmute.

He's definitely transmuted kryptonite, and I don't recall him having any restrictions on organic material. I remember Firestorm having such a restriction on his somewhat similar powers, but not Element Lad.

Maybe I should clarify: two specific items, not two types of substances.
