Hmm...I assumed it was the team that rescued Vi from Imsk getting their votes in. I guess I'll have to re-read that issue.

IIRC, they all did vote for Jan, but it was early in the election, when the first write-in votes for him began to come in (as Star Boy and Wildfire noticed them). At that point though, it still looked like Dreamy might pull it off.

Well, I'm gone for a week starting tomorrow evening, so here's a clue: Chaim was on the right track on his first guess...the three founders are three of the four votes that turned the tide of the vote!

Actually, this question has gone on kind of long and I'm about to leave for Key West for 9 days, so I don't want to hold the thread up. I'm going to give it to Chaim, because he named the three founders originally which is 3 of 4.

It was actually the three founders and Sun Boy, who were all on a diplomatic mission to Khundia (leading to the Omen and the Prophet story) whose votes came in right at the end. Up until then, Dreamy led the vote and Jo was second, but those four write-in votes made Jan the winner of the election. A really great scene, and it was cool that the old school Legionnaires, including Dirk, who was so prominent in the Silver Age, gave their stamp to make it official.
