No, Dawnstar was a member of the Academy before she joined the Legion. The backup story in SLSH #241 or so was designed to show how Wildfire could pluck her out of thin air in issue #226.

Bouncing Boy and Matter-Eater Lad
Right after Sugyn defeated a non-powered Bouncing Boy, Evillo banished him to limbo. During TMK, Evillo banished Tenzil there too, and they worked together to escape.
Technically Sugyn also encountered Mysa, but it was when she was "the Hag" (pre-Legion membership as the White Witch).

Sugyn also encountered Polar Boy, and served as a member of the Heroes of Tartarus!
And one might count Saturn Queen as well, who joined the Legion in the Dynamo Boy story.

Chaim, what are we going to do with you? You didn't cite in which stories the Borlat appears, nor did you expound on the Borlat's natural habitat, mating rituals, nor did you even explain what exactly a Borlat eats. You didn't even give the derivation of the word Borlat in Interlac. I am deeply ashamed sir, and think someone else should get the next question...

Craig, you are thinking of the the book "Travels with Borlat" by J'onn St'nbk of Mars. Sadly, only the first 4 chapters of this book were published after the author was (East of) eaten. *ahem* The best laid plan of Borlats and men...
