Hoo boy! Some stiff competitions on this round. Glad to see you back, Caunotaucarius.

1. UMBRA, if only for the Femnaz advantage and my biased favorance of her over Comet.

2. KONO, whose mass-shifting powers lets her get a good drop on the competition.

3. BRAINIAC 5, though trapped as he is within his own field from Tellus's TK, could easily craft an offensive use of the field that would eventually over-power Tellus. I don't see Tellus' telepathy coming into play too much, as Brainy's mind would be a rush to try and interpret for a non-humanoid.

4. SUPERGIRL, who though she might not have the wisdom of Solomon, knows a few things about working with Dryads like Blok. They shield her, Thunder's ethics of not crashing through them and killing them working against her as Supergirl devises a plan.

5. KINETIX, whose powers and spunk protect her on Drura's planet and can overwhelmn Brek's colds.

6. QUISLET, whose confusing brain (if he even has one) leaves Esper Lass in a daze as he animates one of the many doo-hickeys in the Outpost for the smackdown.

7. LAUREL KENT, whose sheer speed and strength rush against Mysa, whose already underprepared surrounded by so much tech.

1. UMBRA
She'd fit right in on Femnaz.

2. KONO
Rainbow Girl finally loses her advantage, being up against a femme.

3. BRAINIAC 5
The environment plays to his advantage greatly, plus I just don't see Tellus being able to effectively take him down one on one.

4. SUPERGIRL
This is just one of those battles, isn't it? I'll give it to Kara, who can probably garner help from the Dryadians, who she probably made friends with in the past!

5. KINETIX
She's already taken down Infectious Lass, so we know she doesn't have much to worry about from the diseases, and I think it would take more concentration for Brek to protect himself by keeping the environment too cold for viruses to live.

6. QUISLET
Esper Lass probably can't affect its mind, plus it's a good environment for it.

7. LAUREL KENT
I'm going to give it to Laurel on the same principle that tells me Brainy should have lost his first round battle on Zerox!

1. UMBRA

She's smarter, sneakier, and she doesn't even have to get close to Comet to take him down.

2. KONO

Unless Kono's a lesbian now, Rainbow Girl's pheromones have nothing to work with.

3. BRAINIAC 5

Just the fact that Brainy's on Weber's World makes me want to give the win to him. Toss in Tellus' awkwardness on land, Brainy's twelth level mind and that powerful forcefield and it's bye bye Tellus.

4. SUPERGIRL

She'd be more used to places like Dryad than Thunder would be, plus she has a few more powers to help her out.

5. KINETIX

Even though Brek could freeze most of the viruses I'm sure there will be some that will still survive in sub-zero weather. Plus Zoe's made it past Drura already.

6. QUISLET

It'll all be over before Esper Lass even has a chance to read Quislet's mind.

7. WHITE WITCH

Even though the location hurts Mysa, Laurel only has invulnerability- and Mysa should be able to keep out of range long enough to immobilize her with a spell.

Round Five is over. Only three voters this round.

Advancing:

Brainiac 5, Kinetix, Kono, Laurel Kent, Quislet, Supergirl, Umbra.

And chosen by the planetary chance machine for advancement, as is always the practice when we have an odd number of winners: Polar Boy

So, it's the end of the road for:

Comet, Esper Lass, Rainbow Girl, Tellus, Thunder, White Witch

Great game, Duke! I'm sorry voting seems to have decreased - maybe you can modify your sig to reflect that the new round has been posted? Maybe the old voters didn't know.

1. BRAINIAC 5

He should know more about mass than Kono does. I think he can find a way to beat her.

2. SUPERGIRL

No contest. Supergirl has the full array of Kryptonian powers. Laurel only has invulnerability.

3. KINETIX

She's taken him out before. All she has to do is manipulate some sand particles into a big hammer or something and whack him. And even if he tries to freeze her she cn manipulate the ice with her powers before she gets taken out.

4. UMBRA

There won't be as much tech on an agricultural world.

1. KONO
The location gives her plenty of opportunity to fight dirty.

2. SUPERGIRL
Kara scores an easy victory here.

3. KINETIX
The new location doesn't change the situation any.

4. QUISLET
Does Quislet even need to see?

1. KONO
Her powers lend well to breaking through Brainy's force-field, as well as exciting any animals she phases through to stampede (a la Phantom Girl).

2. SUPERGIRL
The others pretty much covered my reasons why.

3. KINETIX
Once again, she'd be able to take him out too quick (even without any objects around) and easily free herself if she did get encaged in ice first.

4. UMBRA
With the physical punch her darkfield now packs, it's possible Umbra could destroy Quislet's ship with her field. That and the low amount of tech in certain areas of the planet could prove to be Quislet's undoing.

Guys, I just want to point out that Quislet's power doesn't only work on tech. He can morph anything.

Whoops. Good point, EDE. But could Quislet inhabit organic matter, such as plants, or something liquid like water? Not arguing; just speculating really, as I don't know if Levitz ever covered it.

I think I'll still stay with my vote for Umbra, if only to see how she would fair in the penultimate round.

Hmm... I don't think it was ever specified that Quislet couldn't inhabit organic matter, though of course he would kill it if he did.

Liquid is another interesting question.

1. Brainiac 5; with that brain and the belt, Kono just doesn't cut it

2. Supergirl; I too must agree with the others

3. Kinetix; now she's just pissed that he came back

4. Umbra; the bluntness of her dark powers makes her a difficult opponent

And the PCM breaks the tie, advancing Brainy over Kono.

Polar Boy, Laurel Gand, and Quislet also bite the dust as Supergirl (Kara), Kinetix, and Umbra advance

1. KINETIX, though Brainy could play with the scientific equipment to his advantage, Zoe might not give him a chance. Her telekinetic powers could either work inside his force-field, or she could possibly damage whatever machines he could hope to use.

2. SUPERGIRL, whose speed could let her knock out Tasmia quick. Even enshadowed and with tiny Imskians to trip on, Kara could find her way.

Brainiac 5-- Zoe power might work inside the force shield, but unless she takes to re-arranging his molecules directly, there's little for her to work with.

Supergirl-- who enlists the Supergirl Emergency Squad to help her on Imsk!

KINETIX - All she has to do is rearrange the molecules of Brainy's costume of belt and it's all over.

UMBRA - Long shot, I know, but I'm thinking Kara will be a bit more careful about using her powers because of all the tiny Imskians around, and Umbra can use her darkfield to blot out the yellow sunlight and launch a powerful energy attack at Kara. Come on, Umbra beat Duplicate Boy to get here AND she was able to hold her own against Singularity for a while!

Brainiac 5: Brainy could definatley out-think Zoe, and he probably knows how to use her powers better than her.

Supergirl: Imsk isn't an advantage to either, and Kara's raw power would overwhelm her.
