This is also true as well. I can actually do 1km in 30 minutes if I do it freestyle the whole way; it takes me longer when I do the butterfly.

Yesterday morning, I didn't have apples in my refrigerator, but then I went shopping and bought some. I still had a few cherries left. I am finishing them now.

So Cleome is correct in that I was lying about the grapes.

On Saturday, I was thrift-shopping in the St. Johns neighborhood and bought some gifts for mr_cleome. They were:

1) A Heinz pickle pin (mr_cleome is originally from Pittsburgh, where the Heinz Corp. is based.)

2) A copy of Like Cats and Dogs, the 1996 CD from The Catherine Wheel. (He has one of their songs on his iTunes player.)

3) A Hawaiian shirt (brick red;he has a couple of other dark orange/brick red shirts) with pineapples on it.

It's HWW's!

(I'm pretty sure there's a Heinz pickle pin somewhere in the house, but Krypto only knows where. The cats probably pushed it down a heating duct years ago.)

I'm pretty excited today because

1. I may have found a cover artist for my book.
2. I may have found an editor for my book.
3. I may have found a publisher for my book.

...since most publishers frown on authors seeking out cover artists.

Yesterday, I contacted an editor and a cover artist, both of whom are willing to work on my book. I've even found a way to pay them!

(No, it does not involve robbing a bank or selling a kidney. smile )

But I'd long since found a publisher--me.

So, cle wins.

Persistent bad habits that I cut way back on as I <strike>matured</strike> got older:

1) Buying lottery tickets.

2) Jaywalking.

3) Nail Biting.

I used to buy tickets 1-2 times a week. Picked up the habit from my Dad, who didn't like legalized gambling but never seemed to consider lottery tickets a part of that.

Thankfully I licked that habit by the time I hit Thirty. Supposedly more people gamble in bad times than in good, so if true that's one trend I've managed to avoid.

I'll chew a nail now and then, especially after it breaks. But that's nothing like my old habit of tearing them all off until my hands looked like they did ten rounds with The Tasmanian Devil. I did this from about Age 10 all the way to 25.

I've never jaywalked except occasionally near the house.

Kent wins!

Ok, then.

1. A family friend who is moving to one of my favorite cities has offered to buy me a plane ticket to visit.
2. I gave a student an A+ on her essay, something I virtually never do.
3. Despite living out here for almost a full year, only during this past weekend's heat wave did I go swimming at Jericho Beach on the Pacific (well, the Georgia Strait. But everyone just calls it part of the Pacific).

. . . I'm guessing that if your school is like mine, it doesn't use the + and - system.

and cleo has it! I still haven't gone swimming. Might have today, if my foot wasn't acting up.

Greg, most schools I've been to do use the +s and -s, although a community college I went to in the 80s and 90s did not (for final grades at least). Even on the 100-scale, in Canada, the 90s are considered to be in the A+ range. 80s = As an A-s, 70s = B-range, etc, and the grading reflects this. As an undergrad doing a year in Newfoundland 4-5 years ago, I was upset to be getting 80s for work I'd get 90s (what I'd considered normal A range, 80s being Bs) for at my home U, yet was relieved to find I was still getting As.

Quis, that offer was made (Montreal is the city in question), but might not pan out after all, at least for Christmas break as proposed. Depends if she sells her house in NY state by October.
