Yeah, now that I think about Brin's origin and the planet Zuun itself, wasn't the surface of his homeworld lifeless and uninhabitable? Besides, how are the attributes of superstrength and agility indicative of wolfness or even ferralness? Having said this, however, from a visual perspective, I used to think it was kind of neat when T-Wolf's eyes would go red and he'd get a bit "ferral," but later versions that were permanently outright animalistic (i.e. super-hairy), such as Furball and the like, just didn't appeal to me as much. In terms of characterization, though, my favourite versions of Brin are Giffen/Levitz's and DnA's (especially the latter versions tag-line: "Think fast!"). Anyway, while I liked much of the preview art for the next artist, I'm in the no-bare-feet-for-Timber-Wolf camp.
If the meek shall inherit inherit the Earth, then I at least want Baffin Island - and a property manager to work for me who is made of sterner stuff than I.

If Alan Moore were writing JLDetroit, Gypsy would have stepped on a rusty nail or something and gotten tetanus and had her leg amputed.
I like Brin with boots. His Cockrum look was also my favorite (though I really like that Clark Gable moustache he had in the Adventure Adult Legion story!)

Really the only barefoot non-feral superhero who didn't annoy me was the pre-furry Beast, possibly because his super-powers were partially located in his feet.
I can deal with barefoot feral W-Wolf.

I can deal with barefoot feral W-Wolf. Who says Brin couldn't hang by his toes and stuff like Hank did? I've always preferred the more human-looking Hank McCoy and his outrageously big feet. But since they've insisted on keeping him blue and furry (even after they brought the old look back for a while in the old X-Factor), his feet have pretty much been irrelevant in the larger picture. Brin could bring that back!
