He Who LSHes wins it. I once got there early and passed out and the prof said, "I haven't even started yet!!! Wake up!"
So sad, I love history, he just had such a thick accent that I feel asleep when talked.
Ex, you were technically second, I took that class with a friend, she stayed awake during the lectures and I watched the videos, amazingly, we both passed with flying colors.
And to show I bear no ill will, I, too, shall bestow a gift...

My obsession with doing LW's Top 40/Hot 100 charts began years ago, when I was enthralled by listening to Casey Kasem's American Top 40 radio program on a weekly basis. For years, I dutifully transcribed each week's chart for my own amusement. (Am I a geek, or what?)
What song was at No. 1 when I started keeping AT40 lists?
a. Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes b. Pop Muzik by M c. Call Me by Blondie d. Night Fever by the Bee Gees e. My Sharona by the Knack f. Endless Love by Diana Ross & Lionel Ritchie g. Billie Jean by Michael Jackson h. Money for Nothing by Dire Straits i. Silly Love Songs by Wings j. Hot Child In the City by Nick Gilder k. Against All Odds by Phil Collins
NOTE: All of these songs actually did make it to Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, from which AT40 was derived.

"Night Fever" was Number One from March 18 to May 6, 1978 -- a bit before my time.

"Endless Love" was Number One from August 15 to October 10, 1981, a bit after I started.

"Call Me" was Number One from April 19 to May 24, 1980; "Pop Muzik" was Number One on November 3, 1979; I started transcribing a little earlier.

Kim Carnes' mega-hit was Number One for nine weeks (broken up by one week) beginning on May 16, 1981 -- well after I'd started.

"Money For Nothing" holds a special place in my heart because it went to Number One the week of my birthday. It stayed at the top for three weeks, from September 21 to October 5 -- but in 1985. By then, I was an AT40 veteran.

Phil Collins hit the top of the chart from April 21 to May 11, 1984, again too late.

"Billie Jean" was Number One from March 5 to April 16, 1983, still too late.
"Silly Love Songs" was Number One in 1976, too early.
This question's tougher than I thought!

Nick Gilder's only U.S. hit (and only hit period, for all I know) went to Number One on October 14, 1978, still too early.
That means that the answer is . . .
