Nope again. Think a modern classic from the 1980's. But not a John Hughes film.

Then you both would have been wrong. Wow, I actually thought this would be an easy one. Okay, here's another quote from the same movie: "Hey,loosen up will ya...you're a lotta woman you know that...you wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?"

I still don't know the quotes, but I'm gonna guess "Revenge of the Nerds"?

Not the Nerds either. Hmm. Okay, if this one doesn't give it away I'll come up with a different movie:
"I smell varmint poontang, and the only good varmint poontang is dead varmint poontang."

I would have guessed Remo Williams with the first quote only, but the movie you are looking for is Caddyshack (the second quote gave it away, but the third quote really gave it away.)

You got it minesurfer. It was indeed Caddyshack. Man, I was starting to think I was the only one here who remembered the movie.
You're up!

I just been out shopping the last couple days and hadn't had a chance to check in on the thread. If I woulda checked in, you'd a never had to post that third quote. For some reason those Dangerfield lines stick with me . Let's get this thread into the spirit of the season... the next quote is... "...only I didn't say 'fudge'."

I'm not gonna say it either since I had been wanting to quote this one too in light of the season, but I will give another quote from that film: "Some men are Baptists, others Catholics -- my father was an Oldsmobile man."

I am fairly certain this is from "A Christmas Story."
In fact, I am so certain, I'll go ahead and post another quote right now.
"Close your mouth Michael! We are not a codfish!"

A Christmas story is correct.
I'll take a stab at the other quote... Finding Nemo?

The next quote is...
"What can I do, my dear, to make it clear, I love you madly, madly, madam librarian."

"Marian the Librarian" from Meredith Willson's "Music Man." Matthew Broderick did a quite good rendering of it in a recent remake for TV, but no one compares to Robert Preston.

Yep. Man I watched that movie over and over as a kid. It was the price of being the only boy with two sisters and one tv. I was also the "baby" of the family... I always got outvoted. I was always partial to the Robert Preston one too. Great flick.
You're up Grey...

Sorry to take so long getting back to y'all. Here's the next one, including emphasis:
"Nothing's 'meant to be.' We make what's meant to be."

I am thinking Pleasantville. Tobey Maguire saying it to Jane Kaczmarek.

It seems to be stumping people, so ... Barbra Streisand said it.

Fearless Leader Stu correctly said "Yentl" in the on-line chat (Streisand says it to Mandy Patinkin) so he gets the next round!
