So Steve, anything you or Keith can share with us yet? Keith posted this over at The Pulse : ...Oh, and Steve Lightle rocked the house. It blows his last issue, which was great, out of the water. I feel VERY lucky to have had him onboard. So share already!

Keith Champagne gave me lots great stuff to work with, and together I think we managed to come up with a few interesting things for issue #34. It's a bit early for previews, but I'll remember to pass some goodies along shortly.
"Rocked the house?" heh heh. I like that.

Welcome back, Steve-- long time no see! Hope you've been well. I can't wait to see what you and Keith cooked up for 34... is it really going to be another 5 months?!

THE LEGION #34 Written by Keith Champagne; art and cover by Steve Lightle
LEGION fan-favorite artist Steve Lightle returns for an issue set in the antimatter universe of Qward! The nature of Wildfire’s very existence is changed forever when he’s abducted by the Weaponers of Qward, who want to use him as an energy source for their resource-depleted planet.
June 30 :: 32 pages :: $2.50 Nice cover [and I see you left space for the logo this time ]

I really enjoyed the characters that I was given to work with in this issue. They are some of my personal favorites. I also got a shot at some other characters I've not drawn in awhile ... inside the book.
Of course the art isn't the only reason to check out this issue. There's also a little matter of Champ's story. I hope this guy gets another shot at writing The Legion again really soon. In fact,I think that many of you may be saying the same thing after reading the issue. Not too shabby at all!
Later!

Hi Steve,
Long time no see! Love your cover for #34! Can't wait (really) for it to come out! Love your depiction of Shikari on the cover. Hope you'll come back to Legion Chat again soon!

Bloody Nass!! I just joined this board and right when I think I'm impressed enough Steve Bloody Lightle pops up!!
I'm speechless (almost!).
Steve I LOVE your work....you're one of the reasons the Legion is so near and dear to my Heart. I really missed your beautiful clean lines when Giffen took over (even though I appreciated his darker Legion too)
wow.....can't say any more...just...wow!

Pretty cool, huh?!? I always get a thrill out of hanging with and discussing tidbits with the Pros. Maybe we can twist Steve's arm enough to show us a panel or two. Hey, Scott! Maybe you can interview him about #34, like you did #24 to get an exclusive pic. I'll type it up, if you need me to.

This guy is certainly no god, but if your saying so means you've enjoyed some of my work, then I'm happy.
I've had the chance to communicate with Steve Wacker, Keith Champagne and Ronda Pattison, recently. Their enthusiasm for issue #34 is exciting. It's always good to work with people who enjoy their work and want to make it the best that it can be. Heck, they've even got me anxious to see the printed comic, and I've been staring at it for months.
Hopefully you will all enjoy the issue too. There are a few surprises and unexpected developments for Legion fans of all ages and eras.
I'll post some samples from the issue to ArtPost and Legion UP very soon.
Best wishes all!
Steve Lightle

Well, now that you've seen a few preview images ... any thoughts?
Hate Karate Kid's hair?
Does Shikari look too "alien?"
What's up with those sideburns on Invisible Kid?
Just how is Wildfire going to come out of this one?
Heh heh heh ...

Hi Steve! I just love your version of Invisible Kid. He's positively drool-worthy! Thanks for the great Lyle "butt-shot" in the panel w/ the brat yelling "Monsters!"

She looks no more alien than Brainy, or Cham, or Brin, or any other 2 armed 2 legged humanoid member of the LSH with non-earthling skin tones and features. In reality...could there be such a thing as too alien for those intergalactic teens known as the Legion? As expected, great stuff. Glad to see you getting a little more Legion air-time.

You probably know that I'm going to answer that I don't believe there is such a thing as "too alien." You might be surprised, though, just how many fans argued that Quislet and Tellus were too alien.
Maybe times have changed.
Of course, I was just kidding about Shikari. Frankly, I was just trying to provoke some kind of chatter. Things are mighty quiet 'round these here parts.

It's nothing to do really with Legion #34, but I'm currently reading through the PreBoot issues for the first time, and I'm really loving your work on the series. I just finished LSH #10 (baxter series, volume number escapes me at the moment), and it's really interesting to compare your work from 1985 to that of 2004. Very different, but no less gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your talent with us, Mr. Lightle, the 30th/31st centuries would be hard-pressed to look any better!

Will you be drawing any other legionnaires in #34 besides the six on the cover? I'd love to see your take on the new T-Wolf. I always thought you drew the best T-Wolf ever.

I have a question for you Steve.... Why is it that you sometimes draw Chameleon's face like he's in some sort of a wind tunnel?? His antenae and ears look like there being pulled backwards! Looks kinda silly and painful to me. I know many artists really think out their character designs and this one really has me curious!! I wonder why??
