... have the day off work and am just doing some autumn cleaning. While cleaning out my closet, I found an unopened box from an ebay purchase from like two years ago.

I honestly had no idea what was in it, so I tore it open and found... the complete Marv Wolfman Night Force series and the Kupperberg/Mignola Phantom Stranger miniseries. Sweet! Two little 80's magic-y runs that I've never read. It's like a totally cool surprise present from myself. Thanks, 2010 Ex!

...realized that I have amassed a collection of pink slips over the last four years that would stack up taller than all the Rob Liefeld jokes we've collected over the same duration of time.

...bought new socks, tee shirts, and underwear at Target. Bought two new pairs of pants at Sears. Bought a new suit and two white dress shirts at JC Penneys. Yes, I'm going back to work soon.

...was dashing across the street to the bus stop only instead I stepped right into a pothole about 4 feet deep and went sprawling right into the street. I tore both knees out of my pants and skinned my knees but at least a bus didn't hit me. It was one of those kind of days.

... finally figured out why I have two of every station on the telly with my new cable company. I have HDTV. The second version of each is high def. Duh! Ch ch changes.

... tried to test whether apples really do help keep you awake. Test results inconclusive.

... ate two large quesadillas for dinner ... now I am so full I can't sleep. Have a quesadilla IB.

...stopped by the front desk at my local public library to fill out a compliment card for a young reference desk clerk named Tina. I was struggling to print a copy of my resume from my e-mail account. It was an attachment that had to be downloaded, but the library's security system wouldn't allow me to download to the computer. She informed me that I could check out a flash drive with my library card. I had no idea. Problem solved.

... Got a reply on Facebook from my old elementary school friend. I think he was my first crush too. I distinctly remember on a bus ride back from a field trip thinking that we could get an apartment together when we grew up. Unfortunately, he already has a husband.
