I'm thinking about joining the Peace Corps.

I just finished playing dominoes (double 9 style is all i ever play!) and it's 4am! I don't remember the last time I stayed up till 4am drinking like a mad man with friends. What's cool is we had two tables playing dominoes at all times! 8 people playing and about 5 other people just shooting the breeze. These kids were much younger than us too. I was the oldest I think at 31. Nice to see young kids playing old games. (and getting drunk...d'oh!) the youngest was 23 so they can drink.

Im considering moving to Melbourne at the start of next year, When the BF gets back from 2 months in France. Hooray for me! AND I bought the coolest "cobra" (from G.I.JOE) dogtags today, after having lost yet another set of dogtags dancing like a drunken idiot on saturday night.
Remember : It's not technically a suckerpunch if you yell ''DEFEND YOURSELF SPROCKER!'' two seconds before you let him have it.

I'm driving all the way from Florida to Pennsylvania this Friday, and spending two weeks there with relatives.
I won't have a computer readily available, but I'll still do my best to post a "hello" from up there.
I have big Legion World plans for when I return, including wrapping up the Excalibur review thread (long overdue), starting a new thread in the Anywhere Machine (hint: it's about a TV show from the 60s), and posting the final chapter of the second Imperial Guard fanfic in Bits.

Drive carefully, Stealth. Don't forget to pop into a public library for Internet access!

Her Imperial Majesty the Empress Glorith has graciously granted me a special week's vacation from my duties as Imperial Minister of Silly Walks. "Special" meaning I get to pick the best seven days of my life and live them over again. Working for the Mistress of Time has its perks. Woo-hoo, extra hoo!

Stealth is probably having a relaxing time by now (I hope!). I paid my mortgage bill for the first time today (well, my half combined with Lady Cobalt's half). Let me just say: Stamford, CT prices are waaaaaaaaaay too high

I start a new career on Monday as a Child Protective Services Specialist. I've been without a job for three months after relocating because of a great job opportunity for my partner. I've never gone without working that long. It was fun, but kind of weird. Midwest upbringing, I guess. Adults are supposed to work and feel guilty when they don't.
I've worked in Human Services/Social Services all my adult life, but this will be my first foray into Child Protective Services. It is something I always said I would never do. Too intense. The people who I am going to be working with say they all said that too, but have found the experience rewarding. Kind of excited and little nervous...

Good luck in your new job Jerry. Helping kids is a noble profession to say the least.
I have the day off and will be doing some serious gardening. It's been a pretty shaky summer from the get go. A thaw and freeze cycle seriously effected a lot of the early bloomers (including the fruit trees), and we've had little rain up until recently.
The daisies were duds and the delphiniums and fox gloves didn't even bother. The Irish bells, snapdragons, and rose-checkered mallow are thriving though.

Weather that knocks out daisies is pretty bad weather! Congratulations on getting that job, Jerry! That should be a tough challenge but it sounds like you have a good background for it.

I can't imagine doing that job myself; I have the utmost respect for those who can do it well.
