The first of those three "LOTR" movies dazzled my eyes, stretched my bladder, but ultimately bored me to tears ... and I'd never read Tolkien ... so I don't feel bad about originally missing this joke!
I've only seen that first "LOTR" installment, and one was enough for me. Same with the "Harry Potter" movies. I wondered in both cases what the fuss was about, and each was worth a matinee ticket, but that was enough. I've tried grokking such high fantasy or sorcery epics, but I can't manage it.
... Usually. I very much like "Sojourn" from CrossGen, a classic Tolkienesque quest. Go figure. (Do figure in the winged Ankharans, subject of the third "Sojourn" TPB, though {g} ... you just have to love Greg Land's gorgeous art.)

Gym'll has three hands, though he's mistakenly depicted with four in certain contexts, including Who's Who in the LSH.
I had thought about suggesting that Gym'll would be a particular favorite of Gimli's, due his small stature.
