right now I crave tater chips... or popcorn...some food with a lot of salt, lol.

Thirty-one years ago today, my parents and I moved from Massachusetts to Florida. I lived there nine years and then returned to Boston and subsequently moved to Michigan and then to Texas. My mom lived in Florida until three years ago when she moved to Houston to be near me. My dad still lives in Florida.

The family members I feel closest to are not actually blood relations...

It's been about three years since I basically wrote off the person who I considered my best friend for a over two decades, because it was more than obvious that she'd lost interest and I was sick of always chasing after her. Our material/class status diverged pretty dramatically at some point, which didn't help.

I'd say it's only in the last four or five months that I've really gotten used to this, and have mostly stopped being bitter and angry about it.

I would not have met the person who became my best friend if her mother hadn't been a friend of my immediate family. In an unpleasant irony, her mother shut out my family after the family member she was closest to died, which I felt was very rude. I still consider my friend to be my best friend, but I'm still angry at her mother and hope I never see her again. Obviously, the subject of her mother never comes up in our conversations.

I am five miles above cleome's house. Okay, above her burgh, not neccessarily her house.

I'm drinking coffee from a Starbucks Las Vegas mug... I also own a Starbucks Niagara Falls mug...

I'm really, really hoping to get to Borobudur and Prambanan temples later this year, and Ayutthaya in Thailand next year. What can I say, I'm a sucker for ancient ruins and magnificent temples.

My niece was going through some old photos and found a letter I wrote when I was at summer camp when I was nine years old. Note: Kenny is my older brother. Richard was my best friend.

The letter, mistakes and all, reads:

Dear Dad, Mom, & Kenny

Hi! How are you? I am fine. It nice here. It rained Monday. I did some fishing. I saw 3 movies one was the crawling hand. I am having a good time. Last night was boxing. Ma, I <strike>could</strike> couldn't find the pen, so I borrowed one. Your probly wondering why I am writing so early is because I am home sick. I even miss Kenny. Has Richard called yet? The address is: St. Mary's of the Pines Box 330 Pelham N.H. 03076. At the end of rest peirod I have to stop. And any ways I am near the end. Some kids are mean. And know the man at where the bus stop he live near Uncle Dan's deli. Well by now

Aw Quis, that's adorable!!

My aunts and uncles keep trying to set me up with girls from "respectable" families. Alas, even if I found these particular girls smokingly attractive, and even if I weren't with Blaze,I'd be afraid to get involved with them because of the inevitable extended family business politics I'd be dunking myself in.

I don't remember anything from that camp except for that movie.

To celebrate my cat's 13th birthday yesterday, I gave her an extra treat and didn't boot her out of my TV-watching seat.
