A few years ago, Eryk said that Captain Marvel could be the Harry Potter of comics. Now in an interview, Geoff Johns says the same thing. I think he stole the idea from Eryk

Well, I'll take a fleeting break from grousing and sulking to say that we've got a brand-new fridge. (The old one was on the verge of death.) It's roomy and quiet and soooo much nicer than the old one. Of course, putting all the magnets and junk from the old fridge back on it will probably use up most of the weekend...

Just discovered Firefox's Personas, their add-on which let you customize your browser, and I'm having a blast looking through all the cool art. Found a really cool animated abstract.

I've settled on a less-animated animated one, but, after seeing one based on the Justice League, I'm now looking for a "persona" based on the Legion.

The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

There's some rack-like contraption for sale at the supermarket now that holds your s'mores over the BBQ/grill in little wire "cages" so they look all TV-perfect upon completion or something.
It's that kind of thing that makes me realize that I STILL live in the greatest nation on Earth, by damn!

When I saw the first sentence of the above post from the active topics screen, for some reason I read "contraption" as "contraceptive", which was pretty bizarre.

This should lead to another Bad Pick-Up Line, somehow. But I'm too tired to work out the details.

^Next thing ya know, Edie, you'll be mistaking "cleome" for "condom"! (Sorry, clee...that was directed at Edie, not you! )

Returning to the refined sugar theme:
I bought some donuts today from a local shop that has "What Foods These Morsels Be" printed on their take-out boxes.

My family's pretty unimaginitave, I suppose, so the last two cats we adopted, we kept the names the agencies had given them.

My brother's wedding is on Saturday. Months ago, I decided I needed to get into shape for the weddings I have this summer (I have 6 and am in 3) and was making great progress. Then the baby was born--and oh boy, my schedule was all out of whack. Compiled on that were three big bachelor party / stags (one more to go) and a week vacation. Now finally, I'm trying to get back into shape again. I worked out yesterday like there was no tomorrow, trying to overcompensate for WEEKS away.
I'm dying today. Literally dying. Everything hurts.

The animal rescue people here rescued a boa constrictor, who, after medical treatment, will be put up for adoption.
