Steve Ditko is really interesting despite the fact we know nothing about him.

I always thought the goatee should be fake, and part of his disguise.

I love the small tidbit of DC lore that Green Arrow had a red cap by mistake on and off for several years in the 50's and wish someone would retcon in a groovy explanation.

I prefer to imagine that all the stories took place on an alternate Earth where all the dudes were wearing that same style of facial hair all the time.

It's just as well that I never made it in the comics biz, I guess. shrug

I have the dream about the never-returned overdue library book at least as often as I have the dream about the pending school exam for the class I never attended.

I got stuck in a traffic jam today, just waiting to get out of the shopping centre car park.

“Oh we’ll just pop in there for a little bit, we’ll be in and out in no time” she said...

Rassin frassin traffic mumble mumble grump grump.

My wife and I had my brother and fiance (soon to be wife at the end of the month) for a mini-dinner party last night. We got to use the endless amount of nice plates, bowls and other things we've had since her wedding shower which we only use twice a year.

If it were up to me, I'd eat standing up over the sink so I didn't have to clean anything up.

Tonight, a Random Thing that's been bothering me ever since I was old enough to work the dial of a radio:

Ever hear that Bob Seeger song? "That Old-Time Rock 'N Roll"? Yeah, of course you have.

Every "classic" rock station plays it. Over and over and over again. Ever notice that none of these stations ever play any old "Blues or funky old soul," as referenced in the song? There's no "old-time rock 'n roll" as referenced by Seeger to be found at all. No Buddy Holly. No Johnny Ace. Et al.

Because I've sure noticed, and after all these years, it still irritates the living [bleep] out of me. Like "classic" rock stations aren't already irritating enough. I'll give anyone willing 20 to 1 odds that most of the fans AND most of the DJ's and programmers and ad hucksters don't even have a clue as to what "old-time rock 'n roll" actually is.

Bleah.

My wife kind of likes Bob Seger. To be honest, I find his most popular stuff rather lame. "Turn the Page" is particularly lame.

Yeah, Bob Seeger is almost Eagles-level annoying in my book.

Across the street is an open plot of land where a new building was originally going to go up before the recession (no longer the case). Now, there is a circus tent going up--apparently the "Big Apple Circus" is coming to Stamford later this week and going on right across the street!

I wonder if any of the young trapeze artists might one day be superheroes?

My kids and my wife are addicted to this stupid game called "Plants Vs. Zombies". Don't see the appeal, personally. shrug

If I don't find any, I'll know immediately that this must be one of those other circuses where all the performers are really gangsters hoping to hypnotize and then rob the audience!
