As delicious as the food is -- as stunning as the decor is -- it's the wonderful company that makes the Beacon a place we all love coming to again and again.

And it's the perfect place to host a birthday dinner for a wonderful member of LW like Varalent.

I will definatley be here to honor Vee! It's not the same without him posting as frequently...

When's the party start?

Looks like they're already setting up for the first dinner seating. The torches are lit - and what's this? Tablecloths. How posh. (Of course, the Beacon is posh, so it should be expected).

My favorite Posh thing is Posh spice, always the cutest one.

I'll be helping set up the party for Vee tonight. It should be a great time, I hope he'll be able to attend tonight (if not, we'll just push it back).

Any special surprises planned for Vee's party?

As PR person for The Beacon, I've sent out invitations to a couple of very special guests for Vee's party -- whether it's tonight or later.

I'm here and I've got my birthday party clothes on.

He's either in bed, or celebrating his birthday in an eye-popping fashion.

Or both.

I'll come, if you can get Pagan Lass to show up in her birthday SUIT.

But then, Varalent's birthday is more than a good enough reason to show up.

Maybe Vee will show up tonight! Once he gets healthier, we'll make sure to throw a birthday bash for him in style.

Since Cobalt Kid is a regular visitor here, I thought we'd do a shrimp and lobster special for the next few days. I haven't worked with calmari before, so I'll leave that to the experts.

Seafood chowder, Lobster bisque
Steamed lobster, steamed shrimp
Broiled tiger shrimp kebabs
Stuffed scampi
Jambalaya
Lobster roll (for light eaters)
Stir-fried Shrimp with wild mushrooms, Szchechuan style
Pasta with seafood

Of course, the usual range of side dishes, sauces, etc.

That sounds too delicious for words...now I'm starving .

There's a pasta dish on the menu, Cobie, so you can invite the Princess. If she prefers, we can do a nice tomato sauce or a pasta e fagioli.

I'm feeling a bit under the weather, so I'm going to have a peppery oyster stew to warm myself up...

I'll be dining at the Beacon tonight, and although I don't have a date yet, I always welcome the company of another LMBer. Just not one of my many screaming fans, I'd like a lady who isn't infatuated with us legendary heroes...
