Hmm, I've actually never felt that Vril Dox and post-ZH Brainy were all that similar. Sure, there's the arrogance and the tendency to make disparaging commments.
Between master-manipulator Vril who sees his intellect more as a means to his political ends and who doesn't feel much need for approval from anyone, and misanthropic theoretical scientist Querl with his being bad at dealing with people as well as getting them to do what he wants, and with his constant insecure harping on his superiority, I think they both managed to be quite unpleasant in succinctly different ways, though.

Y'know, this thread is REALLY starting to make me miss Vril Dox and L.E.G.I.O.N.!
You and me both. No fair of DC to give us a glimpse of the other L.E.G.I.O.N. members besides Dox in one panel of Infinite Crisis (the only thing in Infinite Crisis that I liked), and then send them back into oblivion. Vril II made a throwaway remark in
Omega Men where he claimed to Click Here For A Spoilerhave killed Lyrl since his son made good old Vril the First look like a bit of a soft touch. I hope this will be revisited somewhere (preferably in a better title than
Omega Men). Whatever must have happened differently in this post-IC version of L.E.G.I.O.N. continuity might just explain the fate of the other L.E.G.I.O.N. members - although then I probably wouldn't like the outcome.
