One thing I didn't like about the Adam Strange LS was that even though I appreciated seeing Vril, not one other classic L.E.G.I.O.N. character was shown---no hint of Garryn, Stealth, Strata, Garv, etc.

I didn't buy Rann/Thanagar because it was different creative team. Was there any L.E.G.I.O.N. or Vril in that one?

Yes, Vril appeared in Rann/Thanagar War. That's only one of the many reasons I highly recommend it. Superlative space opera.

Hmm, I've actually never felt that Vril Dox and post-ZH Brainy were all that similar. Sure, there's the arrogance and the tendency to make disparaging commments.

Between master-manipulator Vril who sees his intellect more as a means to his political ends and who doesn't feel much need for approval from anyone, and misanthropic theoretical scientist Querl with his being bad at dealing with people as well as getting them to do what he wants, and with his constant insecure harping on his superiority, I think they both managed to be quite unpleasant in succinctly different ways, though.

You and me both. No fair of DC to give us a glimpse of the other L.E.G.I.O.N. members besides Dox in one panel of Infinite Crisis (the only thing in Infinite Crisis that I liked), and then send them back into oblivion. [/b]
Vril II made a throwaway remark in Omega Men where he claimed to Click Here For A Spoilerhave killed Lyrl since his son made good old Vril the First look like a bit of a soft touch. I hope this will be revisited somewhere (preferably in a better title than Omega Men). Whatever must have happened differently in this post-IC version of L.E.G.I.O.N. continuity might just explain the fate of the other L.E.G.I.O.N. members - although then I probably wouldn't like the outcome.

Yeah, for every one thing that the current writers and editors at DC get right, there's twenty-five things that they get so painfully wrong. I don't want L.E.G.I.O.N. to be forgotten, but I don't want them getting the same inept treatment as the Omega Men either.

I still think that, even after all the DCU reboots and LSH reboots, there could be a way to unearth the potential in Lydea Mallor that even Alan Grant & Barry Kitson neglected. For one thing, if the Threeboot Shadow Lass is descended from Lydea, she's certainly inherited her ancestor's feistiness.
