Just wrote the Principle of my Daughters school a somewhat upset note about her teacher marking her off points for three states that she misspelled, when he sent home a note at the beginning of the week that said that correct spelling was not necesssary. the important thing was getting the names int he right states and capitalizing (which she did on the three in question).
Not the first thing with this teacher. he vuts her absolutely no slack and never gives her the benifit of the doubt on anything. If it can possibloy be anything else, and I mean by the slightest ectension of a line in a letter of a spelling word (even if the letter is obvious) he will mark it wrong.
Done ranting...although I could go on and on about this guy and his obvious disdain for my wife and I for actually questioning him on his teaching style. Like when I mentioned in an e-mail that in his weekly newletter that he constantly put the burden of the children not behaving in the classroom and not getting everything out of class that they could if there were not the distractions during the day on the parents and not taking any responsibility to keep any kind of order in the class himself. My question to the Principle was...short of all the parents coming in and taking fourth grade with our kids, we are limited to disciplining at home. We cannot make our children do anything whoile they are in his classroom. It is a physiccal impossibility, and if he cannot maintain any kind of order in his class, why is he teaching...oh wait...that's right, he told his class that he became a teacher because he could hack iit in school to become a Computer Technician and being a teacher was easier. That note stopped appearing on his newsletter, although Hannahs papers started getting a little extra attention from his red pen.
Sorry...I'm really done at this point...
