"She can't be Triplicate Girl... I am!"
Followed very closely by...
"I can't stay mad at you little people... you crack me up."
I love big goofy Gim!

Yeah, that line by Cham was the best! That's definitely my favorite line from #3.

It's the repetition of the scene that makes it work.

"Stupid Legionaires. "Be a varokian dungbeast, Cham." "Can't I be a puppy instead?" "No, we need a dungbeast!" Stupid, stupid Legionnaires..."
But tops was "I like being naked."

Big thumbs up to E-Lad's "I like being naked." line as well as all the above lines too!
The best way to find out where you're from is to find out where you're going and then work backwards. Where are you going? I don't know!

"What is that?"
"For you. The rite of vegatation."
The whole issue is classic.

Well I never liked the name Triplicate Girl...but for the fans of the name Myriad (Lass, Girl, Chica)this seems to make sense.

The whole issue is classic. I liked that they were consulting an old Batman comic for dating tips.

"I can't stay mad at you little people... you crack me up." This gets my vote. Maybe I just didn't get the Cham thing. It was a funny awkward moment (which I'm all for), but the issue started seeming disjointed to me by this point so maybe I was fixated on wondering what was going on.

No issue for me 'til tomorrow.
So, how does the comedic value of #3 hold up against # 2? I personally thought # 2 was a scream, and enjoyed it a lot. Made # 1 look dull as dishwater in comparison.
Is it looking like Waid might be going for a mixture of seriousness and humour in his run? I think that idea is grand.

#3 is at least on #2 level, and maybe even funnier!

I vote funnier. I can only really remember a couple of intentional funny spots in #2. #3 definitely notched it up.

The funnniest part for me was that Dirk and Lu were wearing glasses when "playing Superman".

There really are so many "New yet Classic" scenes in just 3 issues! for me the line,"the rite of vegetation." is a personal keeper which i will use.

Just so I don't look like a big spoiler spoilsport, I do want to thank EDE for including "...of LSH #3"
in the title of this thread. I waited until after I read the comic to come here....
I got a big kick out of "BAR!"

Read it last night!
Overall, I think I found # 2 funnier but that might POSSIBLY be because I *did* spoil the funny moments of # 3 by reading this thread... I couldn't resist, I had to know about the funny!
Was cracked up most by:
Colossal Boy's "you crack me up" comment.
Jo the Player discovering Lu out-played him!
The Rite of vegetation gag.
Dirk & Lu in glasses was SO cute, even though I was expecting it.
Excellent work, Mark Waid! Keep up the mix in LSH, and you will have a unique take on LSH that will continue to be successful!

Upon a second read, I noted giggles aplenty from Jan's attempt at starting a conversation with Lu!

*imitating Opus banging on a table...
LU NEKKID! LU NEKKID!
Horribly inappropriate by me, but still pretty funny.
*You have to love Bloom County to understand what i am talking about, so if you don't get it, don' worry, lol.
Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!
Something pithy!

The childhood friend Exnihil never had.
