My four favorite sketches from Boston. Here's Lightning Lad, from the cartoon, by Dave Johnson. Nancy Thompson from "A Nightmare on Elm Street" by Tony Harris. Here's Mall Hair Girl by Bobby Timony. I imagined her as a valley girl who accidentally used a can of radioactive hair spray, and she can make it do anything. Based on my design Bob drew her in all this glory. And here's our very own Candle by Stephanie Buscema!

Awwww! Love me. lol
And Nightstar, Poison Ivy, Lightning Lad and the sketch card of Lian are amazing. They're all wonderful. Thanks for showing these. They make me feel rich, for some reason!

Beautiful! Have you ever thought of sending it for coloring to a colorist and then, to an inker to get it 'finished'? I don't know if it's possible, but this one is certainly worthy of being a completed work.

I don't think a colorist would work on a piece inked like that.

Is your original inked? I thought it was mostly pencil.
They might be able to with an acytate (I can't spell today) overlay and specialized inks, maybe.

It's inked. Maybe my colorist friend could do something. I don't know, I'll ask. Today was Free Comic Book Day and my collection grows more and more with these two editions. By veteran Legion artist Joe Staton, not a Legion character, but the Batman from the Elseworlds story "Citizen Wayne" from Legends of the Dark Knight Annual #4, which Joe illustrated. But I did get a Legion sketch. A quick one of Lightning Lad by Scott Wegener. He had to do it standing up.

I got seven sketches today at Hawthorne High School Comic Con. The first of which is Celeste Rockfish by Bob Wiacek, my second 31st Century GL piece by him. The second is another alternate version of Dark Angel, a bat-like, demonic version that tried to kill Donna Troy when she was still with the Titans of Myth. Here's the first "Emerald Legion" piece I've added to my collection. I ran into Joe Staton again today, and I had him draw Ultra Boy when he received his "emerald makeover". I originally had Tom Schloendorn draw a version of The Ray, but it wasn't coming out properly, so instead, I had him draw werewolf Ultra Boy from one the pinups in Legion of Super-Heroes #100. Waiting for Tom to finish that, and Evan Dorkin to finish something else, I got another piece by James Sherman. A member of the Team Titans, Redwing. And finally, Evan Dorkin finished, and this piece has changed my perspective on him. I had him do the Unknown Legionnaire, and I was expecting just a quick head sketch. Instead, I got this. My last piece came from Walt Simonson. I had him draw the evil version of Hawkman from Crisis on Two Earths, Manhawk.

Nice haul, SK. Love the Sherman and Simonson sketches. Wiacek's Celeste is nice too.

Time for more sketches! The first is a sketch I've been trying to get from Cliff Chiang since forever. Devil Hunter Yohko. One of my favorite supporting characters, Tiffany Cross by Brian Wood. From Untold Tales of Blackest Night, Sinestro Corpswoman Dawwl by Dave Fox. Yet another member of the League of Super-Teens by Bobby Timony, Itty Bitty Girl. A brand new edition to my Legion Alternity collection, Sumo Sun Boy by Declan Shalvey. Nate Grey, the X-Man of the Age of Apocalypse, by Dennis Calero. Right out of Flashpoint, villainess Yo-Yo by Chris Giarrusso. Accompanied by a quick head sketch of Element Woman.

I think your sumo stuff is so funny. It looks like Declan enjoyed doing Dirk that way! When are you going to have sumo gals? Monstress might count. I like the Thunder and Supergirl drawings a lot, too.

Two more, and this time they're both video game characters. Gruntilda from Banjo-Kazooie by Reilly Brown. And Twinrova from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time by Khary Randolph.
