Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone.  Unfortunately, I really didn't get to enjoy, or even celebrate this b'day. When I got home from work on the Fri the 4th, I realized I was coming down with a cold so I took some aspirin and went to bed. By the time I woke up again, I was deep into the flu. Gradually got worse and worse over the next few days until I realized just how bad I actually was on Fri the 11th! Went to the Emergency Room and was admitted with a double pneumonia.  I've been in the hopsital ever since having all kinds of tests done and being filled with antibiotic IVs, oxygen, etc. I was finally released today and I'm now home though I'm still on an IV and have O2 here in case I need it. Were it not for my business partner and co-workers pestering me (okay, it only felt like they were pestering me but I was delerious so their worried phone calls felt like pestering  ), I'm not sure what would have happened. As it is, I was in very bad shape with a heart rate of 107 (bordering on tachycardia) when I arrived in the ER. I had only eaten two bites out of a cheeseburger (on that first Sat near as I can tell) and a couple of bites from a slice of pizza I somehow managed to order and receive on my b'day (the delivery guy must have gotten on hell of site!) during that entire time prior to arriving at the ER. Go figure what possessed me to order Pizza Hut?! Thankfully I'm on the mend but I still feel wiped out so don't be surprised if I'm not around much over the next few days. As for my birthday? I'm looking at this as the kick off to my 50th celebration which will take place in one year. One hell of a kick off, don't ya think?

Man, we're glad you're alive, Vee! Sounds like you've been thru hell and back, my friend. Concentrate on getting well, and we'll all be here for you.
