Sean Chen did a very cool Sun Woman there! Such simple lines.
Coagula, I've never heard of, but that is hands down an amazing picture. He made her look like she's metallic, just using pencils!

I'm really glad I managed to get both of them. Most of the artists I was hoping to see weren't there.

I posted this on the "Next Gathering" thread in the MMB before I knew of this thread ... Conner & Krypto by Francis Manapul from Comic Con sketched on the inside front cover of his portfolio book ... if he's at NY Comic Con in the fall, maybe I can get him to do Red Robin on the inside back cover ...
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...

I don't know how I never posted this before (maybe I did and I can't find it at the moment), but here's Francis Manapul's Cosmic Boy from 2009 - And here's the one with Invisible Kid that Kabir bought for me this year -

I could love an entire book drawn in that style. Growing up with a black and white TV, I can fill in the blanks in my mind, and sometimes black and white makes for some stronger line-work.

I agree with your b&w stronger line work comment Set. I would love to see some black and white Cinar stuff (aside from the already seen new Legion's promo pics). Perhaps seeing what he could do with some Marvel characters? I bet he would draw one mean Spiderman.

You buy the sketchbook and he sketches on the inside cover "free" (So really you get a book with the sketch). I think it was about $25.00. I had a few different sketches from different artists, but I think that was his price. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Hmm, that might be difficult for me, considering what kind of scanner I have.

I love the energy and spontinaety you get with sketches of any single color, especially with a wash!
