As a common plant, I need not fear death, Gentlemen. Millions are available to battle for the Deputy post should anything happen to me. Actually, we don't usually battle. The winner is customarily the candidate most geographically convenient to fill the post. A good supply of cayenne pepper (a potent squirrel repellent) is also a plus.

Actually now that I got started on that, the idea of a flower being a super hero is interesting and different - how very classically LMB-ish.
I never read The Flaming Carrot but since carrots are vegetables I'm not at all sure that would apply as a precedent.

The Black Orchid was shown to be a plant in the Vertigo mini by that name. (There are LOTS of plant type heroes in Pokemon, but I guess that doesn't apply here.)
