I can't decide between "Gristle O'Thickbody" and "Scruffy McGee."

Either way, there's workboots and a ton of plaid flannel involved. So not much of a change from my everyday self, except for maybe some penciled-on stubble. And a talking woodchuck sidekick.

As anyone who has spent more than hour with me and watched me go into a nicotine fit can attest, I could only be:

My drag king name would be Oliver Barton, combining the first name of DC's main archer and the last name of Marvel's main archer.

Not that arrows are phallic or anything. wink

Other than "Oliver" being a male name, "Oliver Queen" already sounds like a pretty good drag name!

Yeah, but, Eryk, it would be too confusing. One can't be both a king and a queen, can one? Not that I wouldn't think it was cool if someone proved me wrong.

Sometimes you don't get to pick. One night in college a bunch of us were sitting around, smoking some herb no doubt, and picking our girl names. I was a General Hospital fan at the time. There was a character on the show named Tiffany. She was blond, tall, thin and sexy. She always wore fabulous earrings and white dresses. Everything I would have wanted be if I were a girl. I proudly said that my name would be Tiffany.

Some rude bitch said, "You're no Tiffany. You're a Laverne." Everybody cracked up. So, I was Laverne for years.

Bitch.

Tsk.

I, for one, would be honored to put on my best flannel and polished boots to squire "Laverne" around town.

So there.

Yeah, I guess I got the last laugh. The names that those other queens picked faded fast, but Laverne endured and became something of a legend.

Does anybody else think about grabbing an ice cream when they see the initials "DQ", or is it just me?
