In the original run did the artists who drew the Legionnaires first appearances design their costumes?

If so does anyone know who Curt Swan designed?

I'm just asking as I remembered he didn't draw the first appearance of Princess Projectra, Karate Kid, Ferro Lad and Nemesis Kid.

So it seems a bit hit and miss as to who actually designed some of the characters we associate with a particular artist.

I would imagine that Forte designed more of the silver age costumes than did Swan. Anybody got a list?

I would guess Shooter desiged the costumes for most of his creations.

Wow! That does the job.

I didn't know it was there!

That's quite shocking though. Curt Swan only designed three Legionnaires costumes?!

Its interesting to point out that Platino and Forte's costumes were usually more "clothing people from the future wear" rather than "superhero costumes", whereas the later Leigon artists usually were more geared towards the latter.
