Ginger was the name of the intellectual roommate in Alison Bechdel's Dykes To Watch Out For comics.

Unless their names are going to be on the GRE, I can't be bothered.

The fact that Jade and Obsidian are the children of Alan Scott was a little far-fetched when the characters were created in the early '80s, but was at least somewhat plausible. At this point they could be his great-grandchildren. Of course, that's nothing compared to the fact that Shiera Hall apparently gave birth to Hector when she was in her 60s.

I guess Shiera made the DCU version of the Guinness Book of World Records.

Off by about 12, Fanfie. Seriously, though. When Hector was introduced, it was stated that he was born in 1963. Shiera was born, maybe 1919. That would make her 44 at the time--rather late in life in those days, but with the Ian Karkull-derived youthening, it could happen. After the Crisis, the JSA and their All-Star Squadron were still tied to World War II, but the Infinitors apparently were not and appear to be no more than 30-ish now, if that. This would put Hector's birth at about 1980, when Shiera would be 61. Cool, huh?

I'd prefer to see Infinitors left in the 80s. Except PG.

I must respectfully disagree, Kent. The Infinitors were, in my opinion, just as fresh and exciting as the New Teen Titans and the original Outsiders and deserved the same long and healthy lives. And I wonder just what Roy Thomas did to piss off the Powers That Be into treating his characters so badly. Originally posted by Rockhopper Lad: Off by about 12, Fanfie.

Like the Powers That Be really care about how the characters are treated.

The Infinitors really have gotten the works. Every one of them has died, been depowered, gone evil, gone insane or some combination thereof:
To wit (an asterisk means they "got better"):
Brainwave: Went evil*. Dr. Midnight (Beth): Died. Fury: Went insane*. Died(?). Hourman (Rick): Lost powers*. (Overall, of the characters created for the series, Rick has fared best). Huntress: Died. Retconned out of existence. Jade: Lost powers*. Died*. Northwind: Went insane or evil. Nuklon (Now Atom-Smasher): Went evil.* Obsidian: Went evil*. Lost powers.* Currently an egg powering a neo-Nazi machine. Power Girl: Had powers reduced.* Also had her origin severely messed with. Silver Scarab/Sandman/Dr. Fate (Hector): Died*. Died*. Died(?). Star-Spangled Kid/Skyman: Died. Wildcat (Yolanda): Died.

Although Paul Levitz has a reputation for being unsentimental, I'd like to hope he at least fought to keep that from happening. Helena was his baby. I cannot STAND Helena Bertinelli, and I will NEVER accept her as the Huntress. Originally posted by Rockhopper Lad: Star-Spangled Kid/Skyman: Died.
