My best friend at UCONN and later roomate was half-Ecuadorian (born in the US). We're still great friends and he was a Groomsmen in my wedding (his longtime g/f was a bridesmaid for my wife).

A had a prof who got her History MA at UCONN (she went elsewhere for her PhD). She didn't have many good things to say about the History department there. She basically described it as a bunch of old white guys in love with traditionalism and white Yankee (not the baseball team) regional mythology.

I bet the UConn women's basketball team this year could have beaten the UConn men's basketball team.

I've never been a groomsman. I have, however, been a bridesman.

When did she go? When I was there, a lot of those guys were still there, but it was changing quite a bit.

There were a few Professors that you could tell didn't want to teach undergrad courses. I find those kind of Professors to be a bit douchy.

I guess it woulda been late 90s, maybe very early 00s. She was definitely gone by 02, because that's when she started her PhD.

One of my very best friends may one day let me be the Ordained Minister at her wedding--seriously. We've been talking about it for like 10 years. I would totally do it in a heartbeat.

I'm going to be the Best Man at my brother's wedding this summer and then a Groomsmen in another wedding later in the summer.

I've been a groomsman twice, never a best man (was supposed to once, but the engagement fell apart - for the better for all concerned).

That's when I was there! From Fall '99 - Spring '03. I became a History Major (undergrad) in 2001. It would be pretty groovy if I'd known or met your friend...small world!

I was a groomsman at my sister's wedding when I was 13. That's the only time I've done it. I have sung in the choir at a few weddings, which is a wonderful experience.

I hang out at the community college in a baseball cap, T-shirt, and backpack, in an effort to see if I can still pass as someone in his early twenties.
