Wondercon was this weekend and in addition to all the cool Legion sketches , I got this AMAZING Jim Lee piece! Spider-Ham versus(?) Matter-Eater Lad! Met & chatted for a bit with writers Brian K. Vaughn and Michael Chabon which was way cool. Saw lots of con friends and surprisingly old coworkers and school friends. Are comics are hip!?!

Looks like I'm gonna get one of those full time job things again! School's almost done and I've interviewed for full time stuff in advertising. It'll be cool and scary to be working again but I think I'm ready for it this time. From Wizard World LA, I got Eric Canete (background artist from Legion cartoon) to do Wiccan and Hulkling from Young Avengers for me! I was actually hinting at wanting Legion characters but then he said he drew Legion all day for work so I didn't want to make him draw more.

I **love** that Tenzil/Spider-Ham drawing! Kuh-YUUUTE!!!!
So, I was thinking in keeping with tradition that it may be time to move this thread on to a new primary poster.
My first thought was Outdoor Miner, but then I saw that he already has the thread we've all been waiting for!
Then I thought that Cobalt Kid could stand to use some more exposure here.
Then I thought it might be kewl to turn the thread over to the last person that posted on it...
so welcome to the all-KENT SHAKESPEARE thread!

Yay, Kent Shakespeare! You know, one time, Kent and the last person this thread was dedicated to were going to come save me from the evil clutches of Amtrack. But, thankfully, it was unnecessary in the end and we all went happily (sweating profusely in the humid, humid summer air) back to our hotels. True story.

What a hero! Amtrack is a dastardly villain!
Kent will be an honourary Canadian for the next few months, so he'll have to watch his spelling.

Huzzah for Kent Shakespeare, my predecessor as Deputy Leader! In LMB continuity, Kent administered the Oath of Office of Deputy Leader to Rockhopper Lad. Let's hear it for Kent!
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

Yes! That would be awesome, Deddy! And it would have built-in sequel potential for a Newfoundland reunion!
Thanks, LASH, for this thread! Thank you, Cramer, for the honour.
Cali, if we knew in advance what a nightmare the train would be, I'd have picked you up in in SB! (we should also thank Abin for renting the wheels. Good ol' AARP discount!)
and lst but not least... Eudyptes, I’m so proud of you!

A funny thing about Kent is that he often says he still feels new around the LMB sometimes, but I can't imagine the LMB or LW without him! Yay Kent! Plus, he's the best guide ever if you're up in the Niagra Falls area!

no, but I've got a bunch of Kirbyesque machines that I'm afraid to turn on and find out what they do.

Let's get some action here in the newly re-christened Kent thread! Maybe a live cooking demonstration, wild animals, and celebrity guests?

I'm going to try to make guacamole for the first time ever. I've watched a friend do it several times, and he's given me some pointers, so I'm not too worried.

Kent must be still eating the guacamole. Deelish.
Guacamole = avocado dip - mush up the avocado, add some diced tomatoes, some ground, toasted coriander and salt to taste. Serve with tortilla chips, or anything dip-able.

Darden, it wasn't that appealing to me at first (that, and it's green!), but it really is something, when done right.
Mine came out okay. Not great, but okay. I had some jalapeno torilla chips with part of it, and I used some to make turkey/guacamole sandwiches. yum.

well, I had more success in making my very first-ever batch of salsa cruda! only a handful of ingredients (tomato, onion, pepper, cilantro, lime, salt & pepper and a little bit of water) and no cooking, so hard to go wrong.
I also made a batch of tuna macaroni salad using mom's super-secret recipe. It's the best damn tuna mac you'll ever had, so feel underprivileged that you missed out.

I've been making a lot of cold dishes!
Italian bean salad was the latest (red and white kidney beans, well rinsed, with minced garlic, chopped onion, a splash of olive oil, a dose or lemon juice, salt and pepper).
Making gazpacho tonight.

I paid for a storage unit yesterday. It's going ot be home to all my stuff for the next seven months.
Tuesday will be my last day of my summer job... and not a moment too soon. I was ready to quit last night - and I never quit jobs.
Then I finish packing, clean the apartment, and go down to mom's for a week and a half.
In July, I go to Edmonton for 6-7 weeks.
Then it's back to Plattsburgh for a week to work during orientation week for international students. After that, I have a week to kill and on Labor Day weekend it's off to Newfoundland for a semester!
