And how do you WANT it to be resolved?
Will Jarth separate, returning both Live Wire & Element Lad to the Legion fold?
Will it be revealed that Saturn Girl is animating Jan's corpse?
Will Jarth be a permanent fixture?
Will Garth's mind be destroyed/eradicated/moved, leaving only Jan?
WHERE is this subplot going, anyway??!

I have some ideas. But I'd need to collect my thoughts before elaborating.

Here's my idea from your own "Do you want it?" thread... Originally posted by Varalent: Resolution to the Jarth subplot ~ Yes, please! DnA have mucked this up so much. Here's hoping that something is done to resolve it, and quickly. Maybe we can find out that Garth isn't in Jan's body at all just one that was encased in living tromium to protect him. Of course living tromium would mean that's it's Jan that's been encasing Garth all this time, having wrapped himself protectively around Garth at the last moment. The legionnaires finally deduce the real situation and discover a way to bring Jan back to consciousness. Presto!...we get them both back safe and sound! So I guess I would answer #1
"Hey Jim! Get Mon out of the Zone!! And...when do we get Condo back?"

Jarth removed. And (this may be controversial) both Jan and Garth still dead in the second Galaxy.

Can I point out the "no sleep" thing, which, together with the fact that Jarth was found as shattered crystals, not a complete body, seems to mitigate against this.

My guess is it won't be resolved. At least not by DnA with only one issue left. And with so many dangling subplots who knows when the new team will get around to cleaning them all up. Unless we get that reboot.

I don't think DnA will resolve the "Jarth" thing -- they'll leave it to another writer to fix if they see fit. After all, despite how we may feel about it, it's not a dangling plot thread -- Garth may just be like this forever.
What I'd *want* to happen though would be for them to discover that Garth has *supplanted* Jan's thoughts -- they're there in the crystal underneath Garth's consciousness from when he was with the Legionnaires, looking all ragged. Garth's "electrical imprint" would be transfered to a new body (maybe Mekt after he attacks the Legion and is "killed"?) and Jan is back in crytalline form, not having had to go through a million years of isolation since the crystal was imprinted with Jan's essence before they reentered "real space".
Either that of "Jarth" dies.

Me, I'm just taking DnA at their word. They're leaving it for the next team. I also believe that anyone who imagines that Jarth is the Progenitor will be disappointed with the next issue. Imo, he's really Garth, just as he claims, in a bizarre reverse-Proty dilemma. I agree that "Jarth" will eventually be replaced by a more human Garth but the next writers will take their time with this one, drawing as much story value and controversy out of it as they can before we all scream in bloody agony. The possible variations are endless, so are the questions: How did he get into the crystal body? Where the hell is the real Jan/Progenitor? Will he keep the transmutation powers? Will they affect his mind? What happens to the tromium body if he leaves it for another? Will Mekt become the next incarnation of the Progenitor? Will Garth ever get to shag Imra again? The shocking answer to the last question might just be found at the DCMB. As for Jan, my current theory is that Waid will replace him with a hypertime version of Element Lad -- one from an alternate universe where the events of Legion Lost never occurred. That way the Legionnaires won't have so much reason to question his sanity or motives.

It has recently been released, through the freedom of information act: UP directive LSD3012, that a certain legionnaire's real name is
Drake Jan Garth Burroughs.

Called to investigate anomalies in the vicinity of the rift incident, a team of legionnaires witness the re-entry of the legion outpost into material space at the same point at which it disappeared. Debate ensues over which oupost team contains the true legionnaires until the Time Trapper makes an appearance and explains that he duplicated the team, sending one copy off to his "Pocket Galaxy." Unfortunately, the Progenitor's tampering has destabilized both galaxies, and the two teams must merge in order to save existence. Jarth splits, merging with Jan and Garth, but ending up as two distinct beings.

Aaaagh! Don't kill Mekt! I don't think they'll leave Jarth as is, but how - or if - the two beings will be separated, who knows? Can we the readers live with a crystalline Garth who looks like Jan? Even if the legionnaires get used to him and fully accept him as Garth, I would expect there to be a lot of clamoring to at least make him look more human and to get him into a Livewire costume. Funny that nobody calls him Livewire, only Garth.

Maybe Dan and Andy will beam into the comic and explain just what the heck is going on to everyone and unleash the mother of all Deus Ex`Machinias, a-la Grant Morrison and Animal Man #26

I want the Progenitor back as a major Legion villain. They need a new one in the worst way.
Maybe the whole Jarth thing could be a hoax perpetrated by the evil P-man to sneak his way into this galaxy and cause mayhem after winning the Legion's confidence.
I'd like to see Garth stay dead and have Mekt replace him, though with Ayla around I guess there's no real need to replace him, and I doubt he'd stay dead for long one way or another, what with being a Legion founder and all.

Maybe Zoe will use the last of her Hypertaxis energy to give Garth his old body back, at the same time returning her to her original form.
But you just knew I was gonna suggest something like that, didn't you?

That, IB, would be the only thing that would make having Zoe around in her current state as long as we've had worthwhile. Great plan for fixing two characters at once!

Maybe they are destined to become the 31st century version of Firestorm. Garth could transmute his hair into a "Fire Crystal" and Jan could say little things in Garth's ear like the ole perfesser use to do to Ronnie. As long as they give him puffy sleeves, I'll be happy.

But you just knew I was gonna suggest something like that, didn't you? yes, yes!! It's definitely past due time for an "everything wraps up happily, nice & neat"-style ending, ala the first EVILLO story! Also, Let Zoe's hypertaxis somehow restore Jan and Candi and turn Sensor into Projectra before Zoe returns to normal! I'd be content. I know the liklihood of this is near-nil, but darn it!! I want a "nice tidy happy" ending!! The ending of that Evillo story is my favorite ever!
