RB, if you need a good deal on rubberized, er, "leisurewear," you should be talking to Pov. I'm pretty sure he knows where all the bargains are.

In fact, Pov originates most of the bargains himself -- his eBay store specializes in affordable fetish attire, with an emphasis on rubberized and otherwise easily cleaned apparel.

Well, Buddy, if you maxed out your credit cards, don't come crying to me! I already had to stop answering my phone after that last misunderstanding with the lovely [sic] people [sic] over at B of A.

My friend's dog is named Max. Maxwell, actually. And he is smart.

One of my dearest friends is named Max. He lives near Boston, so I rarely see him. Now that I think about it, Quis has met him.

No, it wasn't. We did have a running gag about him having super-powers, though. He's one of those people who knows how to do just about everything, so we used to say he was omnipotent.

Maxima was one of my favorite DC characters. I was very upset when I came back to comics in 2005 from a seven-year hiatus and found out she had died in 2001.
Even though Peter David's Aquaman run declined after #25, I have a sentimental spot for #41, because Maxima guest-starred in it.

I mostly knew her from the Supes wedding special. I must have seen her at one other point. I didn't. See enough of her (story-wise, no innuendo) to really form a strong opinion of her.

I didn't read the Supes wedding special, but Adventures of Superman Annual #3, the Armageddon 2001 tie-in guest starring Maxima, was my introduction to her and it is an absolute must-read. And thanks to the insane print runs of the early 90s, it's easy to find cheap.

ah. I have few of the Armageddon 2001 annuals: JLA, JLE and the one with Supes as President.

I think there also used to be a crappy "fragrance" in the Seventies called "Maxie."

I used to think that was Erin Gray in those commercials, but doing a Google search suggests otherwise? The woman in the vid I found looks similar, but not quite.

Here is the 1980 version of that commercial. This is definitely not Erin Gray.

I think she would have been too young then. I remember not understanding the metaphor "bring home the bacon" before this commercial. Who says TV isn't edjamacational!

I used to have a "vegetarian" roommate who ate nothing but horrible, processed crap and tasteless cardboard veggies from the freezer or a can. I never saw her bite into so much as an apple or a raw carrot stick, but she would get whiny if I made myself scrambled eggs and bacon on the weekend. She also thought comic books were stupid.

I like comic books and vegetables. Today I bought 8 comic books, and ate a big salad and some homemade cauliflower/leek/carrot/celery soup.
