To me, the definitive voice of the animated Robin will always be Casey Kasem in "Super Friends."
Oh, and Kasem also played Cliffjumper, Bluestreak, and Teletraan-1 on "Transformers," my favorite cartoon of all time.

Supposedly, girls with "masculine" names will grow up feeling more comfortable asserting themselves and assuming authority as adults.
So, yeah. Tomorrow I'm having my name legally changed to Myron.

@Rocky: There is also an American male folk musician named Robin Williams. @cleo: how about Sheldon instead. That way, you can do our taxes.

Sorry, Kent. No can do. That was my Dad's name, and Jewish families don't believe in the "Sr.-Jr." school of naming.

ah, yes. Especially when the person in question is still living?
I briefly dated Sheldon Mayer's grand-daughter Michelle (Chelle/Chellie for short), and she pointed that out when I misspelled her name as 'Shelly').

When he was still around, my Dad was always getting junk mail addressed to "Ms. Shelly."

I gather that was not due to any sort of drag identity?

None that I was ever informed of. Though mr_cleome and I both inherited some of his old clothes. Does that count?

The one time I did drag, I used the name Rita Book.
Oh, and, Kent, I remembered the "other" Robin Williams (who appears occasionally on Garrison Keillor's show) as I was writing it, but since they have the same name, I figured there was no point.

The other Robin Williams even has a film credit of his own, thanks to Garrison Keilor and Robert Altman.

Robert Altman is one of those filmmakers that I respect without actually liking any of his movies, not even M*A*S*H. (I did like the first couple season of the TV series, but Altman had nothing to do with the TV series.)

I actually dislike the first few seasons of M*A*S*H. I find Wayne Rogers' character particularly grating. I'm very fond of BJ and Colonel Potter.

I like some of his stuff. His MASH was okay, but not as great as some people made it out.

I really liked Gosford Park on its own terms, and also because it skewered so many genre cliches.

To each their own, Rocky. I liked M*A*S*H better when it was primarily a comedy.

It's a very complex show, with three or four distinct periods. I like the middle years best when BJ is there, but before he grew the mustache (odd, because I usually prefer facial hair).

It was Alan Alda's suggestion for the actor who played BJ (what was his name, Mike Farrell?) to grow the 'tache.

Yeah, it was Mike Farrell. I had a bit of a crush on him when I was a teenager. Again, it's funny, because I prefer him clean-shaven. Even though I generally prefer facial hair, there are some men who look better without.

I too prefer the later years, when there was a blend of comedy and drama. A wartime sitcom that was solely a comedy was running out of steam. The cast changes and direction changes added substance/dimension onto the fun.
