Finally finished watching "The Pacific." In this era of "No Compromise" the series made me believe in the American spirit again.

...had a couple of friends over for coffee, mimosas and some brunch-type snacks.

...wound up guest-lecturing before several hundred students today. There were four of us GTAs who had to fill in for an ill prof. Not as scary as I'd imagined.

Which is a damn shame. When I was a kid, I got a lot of my comic books off the spinner rack at the IGA while my mother was grocery shopping. I got a lot at the drug store too. I love my comic book shop, but we've really lost something....
